The Hydrangeas did very well this year, although in general the heads are smaller probably due to the hot summer.
Now some have been dried and form a lovely dash of colour in the room.
Hydrangea, the name, comes from the Greek words "hydro" or water, and "angeion," or vase = water vase, they prefer a lot of water.
A very ancient plant, found in fossils going back thousands of years.
Flower lovers will know that there is a flower language.
Every sentiment is expressed in one form or another by delicate blooms.
Of course, even the experts disagree on the "true meaning" of many flowers and most have different meanings to different people.
So, while all flowers convey thoughtfulness and love, a gift of flowers for a special someone will always create its own personal meaning, too.

Vcs viram isso? Vi a entrevista do casal em Oprah. Simpaticíssimos, os dois. Mas foi como a filha mais velha da esposa de Thomas Beatie falou: é preocupante, o mundo não está preparado pra isso. Sabe Deus o quanto todos eles vão sofrer com essa história (sobretudo a nenenzinha, coitada)...

Foto feta per a l'entrega de la lliga fotogràfica en eñ tema:amos i mascotes. La meva sorpresa va ser enorme quant al voler copçar-les, va sorgir aquest moment de sentiments extraordinari entre totes dues. El que havia de ser una proba de llum em va donar un regal fantàstic. Gràcies Susana per la paciència que hi vareu tenir tant tu com la Quina.
The title for this image is from a song by an Australian musician, Xavier Rudd. This song has been in my head all week as Noah has been playing it on my phone as we go to school in the morning and home again in the afternoon. We saw Xavier perform at the Caloundra Music Festival last year and he loved seeing this guy up on stage playing so many musical instruments, including several didgeridoos. So when I came across this photo in my camera roll tonight, I knew exactly what title would fit it. It's a song with a really lovely sentiment so I guess if you like you could google it and have a listen if you haven't heard it before.
