True intelligence operates silently. Stillness is where creativity and solutions to problems are found. Eckhart Tolle.
Eckhart Tolle born Ulrich Leonard Tölle, is a German-born spiritual teacher and self-help author who resides in Canada. He is best known as the author of "The Power of Now" and "A New Earth": Awakening to Your Life's Purpose.
After being recommended by Oprah Winfrey, his first book, The Power of Now, reached The New York Times Best Seller list in 2000. The same happened to his 2005 book A New Earth.
Ulrich Leonard Tölle was born in Lünen, a small town north of Dortmund in the Ruhr region of Germany in 1948. He felt afraid and anxious growing up in post-war Germany, where he played in bombed-out buildings. He later stated that pain "was in the energy field of the country."
At the age of 13, he moved to Spain to live with his father, who did not insist that he attend high school, so Tolle elected to study literature, astronomy, and languages at home. At 15, he was "heavily influenced" by a gift of the five spiritual books by the German mystic Joseph Anton Schneiderfranken. Source Wikipedia

Fuji X-E2. Apologies for writing in German, but you will get the drift. The old man on the left sticking his head out of his door got me involved in a conversation. He has lost a lot of memory and asked what day it was. When it comes to transport, the Care Group can help him.

These homes (9 of them) were built by the people that will live in them. None of the residents could have afforded to live in my town had it not been for their own sweat equity and the work of many others to make them affordable. The units are simple, but there is a beauty in that simplicity, and in the story behind them.

Me + Self help books = Depression
I love these books, but they do not actually make me feel better I would love to just read one and morph into a different person, but it is never going to happen!!
I was going to do a photo with my stats books or lecturing papers...but they are all in the loft and I do not want to get out the ladder and brave the fibreglass ;)

Facing a lot of challenges these last couple of years. Trying to make the best of it and find some humor in it all. This was a fun image to make despite the subject matter. Looking forward to better times...
There is a fine line between horror and hilarity!
Close at hand beside my desk I keep some of the books I like to refer to most often: books on writing practice, self-help, and mindfulness.

Thank you to everyone who visits, faves, and comments.
There is this song called "Eye In The Sky" by The Alan Parsons Project. I like that song for its wonderful lyrics and the instrumental. I've heard that this novel (1984 by George Orwell) inspired the band to make a whole album including the song "Eye In The Sky".
So, it's my last week of Summer Vacation. It pours and the weather gets all humid. I am so looking forward to learn and explore. Kind of excited to meet my friends and listen to their stories.
I wish you all well.
