People know your name - not your story. They’ve heard of what you’ve done but, not of what you’ve been through. So, take their opinions of you with a grain of salt. In the end, it’s not what others think, it’s what you think and know of yourself that counts. Sometimes, you have to do exactly what’s best for you and your life - not what’s best for everyone else.

Kind of a play on Michelangelo's 'Creation.'

The exhibit is rather small and focuses more on her clothing, but there are some wonderful pieces of her art and the story is well-detailed about her life--especially about her father who was a success photographer. Definitely worth a visit to BM if you are in the city or visiting.

WOW, thanks to everyone for all the favorites and comments on my last photo, they're much appreciated! And that's awesome that I was on the explore page, thank you all for letting me know :)

Here's a self portrait I took bored and tired after school one day. I just decided to paint my face and practice my studio lighting photos and loved how this turned out!

Has it always been that we're terrified of ourselves, of the chaotic instincts within ourselves, the aimless, boundless array of desires and needs, that we told the fable 'know thyself' rather than an advice more imminent and perhaps destructive: 'to be thyself'?

Is it knowledge of what we are that we lack, or courage to be what we know we are?

i rarely post a self portrait but i really like the tone in this image. there are so many convex mirrors here in taiwan that i always seem destined to try my luck with a shot or two. some mirrors are so badly dented that they give a unique distortion, but not this one. i also played with the lr6 processing in regards to color. fun….
