They look like daisies. I bought them and put them in a pot, most flowers in the ground don't last too long out here because of the deer. They're safer in a pot out of reach.

Bucharest, Romania (002_4738)

Some of the movements of birds in flight look increasingly dramatic to me. I view the RAW shots of this hawk and imagine Beethoven's frustration and anger as he lost his hearing and hear his strong Fifth and Ninth Symphonies in my head—something I couldn't see, hear, or express when looking with binoculars.

I feel so grateful for camera gear now.

Perhaps these birds express fierce frustration at and inconsolable sadness with human slowness to respond to their climate and habitats and trees.

For Macro Mondays - The First Letter of My Name

M for Magdalena. Some of you know me by a different name. Magdalena is my middle name and I always liked it more ...

Thank you for your kind comments and faves.

A sudden pause ... I think maybe he wants to tell me something?

Might be "Take my picture" or "No more treats" or he just wants to "Pause and give me the big-stare down" ...

Another day in the life of one member of my squirrel family.

Zarte Blümchen. Und ein zarter Moment voller Glück.

A tiny percent of rain —and lack of wind—drew me outside to photograph wild daisies of some sort. Borrowed my husband's Nikkor 200mm macro/prime lens and rested it on the trusty monopod. On my knees shot.

I know, based on my husband’s reaction, that this will appear too shallow for many. Don’t worry; I don’t expect you to comment ;-)

A Steller's Jay visits a peanut supply this morning in the rain after the snow. I don’t know where this food cacher stashes his peanuts. These jays carry “some away to store in a cache to help them get through the winter.” www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Stellers_Jay/

"Half black, half blue. Long, black crest. Found in evergreen forests of western United States south through Mexico to Nicaragua. Larger than a robin, smaller than a crow. Populations in the Interior have more white above eye than Pacific populations. Often in flocks and calling frequently. Regularly visits feeders, campgrounds and picnic areas."

A native of Chile, the Monkey Puzzle Tree was first brought to the UK in 1795. On it's first public display in Bodmin, Cornwall, a guest remarked "It would puzzle a monkey to climb that!" And the tree was so-named.

A medium sized hawker flying in late summer to early autumn. It is also called as horsebiter, but that's only a name. They are eating insect such as flying ants. This species may be confused with Aeshna juncea. Feeds mainly in the afternoon and evening. When perched they hang vertically to catch as much sunlight as possible.

As I have admitted before, macro is not my (photographic) thing. Sometimes though I try to exercise it even without the proper gear. Very rarely the result looks good enough to be shared in my eyes. Somehow this one felt like it had something nice although i don't think it's very sharp. Maybe i got drawn by the bokeh and the color of the flower. I hope you like it and that all of you are staying safe and healthy!
