I find seeking that sense of wonder alleviates my despair about our politics and cavalier treatment of nature.

Wanted to show the forehead marking. I adore these birds for their curiosity and intelligence.

As the sun sets in the West, an eastbound Union Pacific freight train approaches a set of "diamond crossings," seen in the foreground, where the triple track UP line crosses a single track Canadian National line. This busy rail junction in West Chicago is a popular gathering spot for local rail fans and photographers. Even if you're not into trains, I thought I could at least fan your attention with glitzy gold and diamond talk :) Thanks for visiting!

(I saw this on a poster inside a shop window of a travel agency at Munich Airpoirt. The Bokeh bubbles are window reflections from the Christmas Market between Terminal 1 and 2. From my point of view, both, the Oriental mood and the Christmas signs work together pretty well :-)

Some of the movements of birds in flight look increasingly dramatic to me. I view the RAW shots of this hawk and imagine Beethoven's frustration and anger as he lost his hearing and hear his strong Fifth and Ninth Symphonies in my head—something I couldn't see, hear, or express when looking with binoculars.

I feel so grateful for camera gear now.

Perhaps these birds express fierce frustration at and inconsolable sadness with human slowness to respond to their climate and habitats and trees.
