Someone's weekend project?

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

This picture was taken from my seat as a spectator in a jam packed theatre, with the camera hand held, as I am now a retired Professional Photographer. IT WAS NOT COMMISSIONED WORK. My English wife Theresa Jane Brown teaches Classical Ballet for the School.

If only every other day was like this - I'd soon run out of memory cards and film

Typical colorful minivet with red-and-black males and gray-and-yellow females. Male is very similar to Scarlet and Short-billed Minivets, but has a lumpy fork on the wing instead of a jagged ‘lightning bolt’ as in those two species. Female can be identified by a similarly simple wing patch and less extensive yellow on the head than Short-billed and Scarlet Minivets. Both sexes average longer-tailed than similar species. Usually found in pairs or small flocks in mid- to high-altitude forests. Gives a pleasant “dee-dee” and a rolling “pr’wee, pr’wee!”.

More wabi-sabi, hopefully illustrating the beauty of universal impermanence. This one comes from a twenty-four image focus stack combined in HeliconFocus and then processed in Photoshop, so it should reward rather close examination. Hope you enjoy it.

Another bit of grass from the back field. I like the way the pieces of this image are distributed around the frame, and the way the leaf winds through them.

With light gone near Hawes I slipped over Buttertubs to get some more light in Swaledale - this was on the edge

LIMNI - ΛΙΜΝΗ

The island of Evia lies along the Eastern coast of Central Greece, and is accessible to the mainland via two bridges, an old wooden bridge and a contemporary suspension bridge. There are also frequent ferries to several parts of the island. It is 175 km long and is the second largest island in Greece, and the third largest in the Eastern Mediterranean.

We have been in a number of weeks of dry weather (although not always sunny or warm when cool air comes in from the sea to the East)

You can see how dull it is by the headlights

Some more shots from yesterday at the coast

Those pencils mark passing places - how sweet

Spotted at the church I went to today

Driving back when it was getting dark there was thick mist in some valleys

Straight back into the light

Popped into Wensleydale today. Too often the sun was not where I was, so sometimes an hour waiting for light

Popped into Wensleydale today - Blue sky start (grey sky later!) with a cold wind - but otherwise dry and pleasant

Turned out to be a stunning evening. This is just 1/4 sec with the R5 hand-held

The Mt. Evans road in Colorado is the highest paved road in North America. Some friends and I went up to the summit right before the road closes for the year. The clouds on our way up in early morning and at the summit were spectacular, lovely weather (although a bit chilly) until those puffy clouds turned dark, and the thunder signaled rain showers turning to sleet on our way down the mountain.

It would be nice to think so
