The "security" at "sensitive" areas during this trip really made me roll my eyes. We had to go through a security checkpoint to get into the Independence Hall complex. Bags checked, x-ray machine. All that stuff. However, this picture to demonstrate the "security perimeter" around the area. Secure area is on the right. Unsecure area is on the left. I'm not kidding. Pedestrians aren't supposed to cross that street, but cars can drive on the road, and that is an unsecured area. Right: secure, left: unsecure. Got it?
