When we ran a Post Office, pens and pencils were forever going walkabout! The supplies department would send us these toppers that would be affixed to these items, hopefully to stop them disappearing constantly!

66778 arrives at the terminal gates at EMG on 18/05/21 with 4D62 Seaforth-EMG containers. Stealth mode required here until you see the train approaching, otherwise you will be turfed out by the security fuzz
This is taken with a pole but you can get a shot just stood on the embankment. Note I have removed a security camera that is on a white pole near the trees, that was sticking out the top of the loco, that is what the security office will clock you on if you get in position too early - so stay at the fence line until you see the train approaching, just a tip! It's similar on the opposite side of the line, there is the path/cycle path as visible in this shot, dare to tread on the grass the railway side of the path, and you'll be getting a visit... Gives them something to do I guess

Candid street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. Opting for a square crop and breaking the composition 'rules' in the name of storytelling - I just loved the framing for this shot with the CCTV camera pointing directly at this member of the bar staff sitting outside. It was especially striking to me with the t-shirt showing a face covered by a balaclava. Enjoy!
Security isn’t high here, from the looks of things. But it has a lovely warm loving feeling saying welcome home.
Since the recent attacks in the UK a visible presence of armed Police has sadly become the norm...however, the Police are as much as possible trying to allay fears especially with children.....they are making a good job of this as seen in this image.

I am going through some of the images made over the last six months that didn't make the "daily pic".
Shhhh, don't tell a soul: sometimes open doors are interesting too!
Yes, there are two doors on this single portal. It's the doorway into Westminter's Pyx Chamber. It's a pity that you can't see more of the exterior door. Both it and the inner door have three locks each.
We went into the Pyx Chamber to answer a question about architecture from the era of Edward the Confessor. Diving down that rabbit hole uncovered the existence of and reason for these two doors and their six locks. The people of London can't all be trusted!
That last speculation is, well, speculation. I have no idea where the miscreants who necessitated those locks originated. What is said to be the case is that originally, entrance to this space was via the vestibule to the Chapter House. It was out that way that the King's treasure wandered with, apparently, some assistance.
Later, after the early 14th theft, these doors, and all of those locks, took over the security duty.
There you have it, it's not just closed doors that create interest; sometimes.
