Mayor David N. Cicilline and U.S. Treasury Undersecretary Dan Tangherlini joined state housing partners to congratulate the staff of OpenDoors, a nonprofit in Providence whose mission is to strengthen communities by providing support services to the formerly incarcerated, at their groundbreaking ceremony for their new facility in the former historic Sealtest Ice Cream Factory in Silver Lake. The project, RI’s first large-scale development created to support Rhode Islanders returning to the community after incarceration, received nearly $1.8M from federal Tax Credit Exchange Program (TCEP) funds provided under the Recovery Act.

Nancy Westlake, who grew up in the Homewood section of Pittsburgh, loved baseball. That love inspired her design for this shirt, a school project. She put her favorite Pirates player Ralph Kiner on the shirt with baseball great Babe Ruth and the Pirates Wally Westlake (no relation). Later she asked Kiner to autograph the shirt - he agreed, but encouraged her in his return letter to stop skipping school to watch the Pirates play at Forbes Field. Gift of Dale R. Yessler and family in honor of Nancy Westlake Yessler

I don't know much about Sealtest Ice Cream. I know they sponsored the ice cream plaza at Walt Disney World for a while. I did find this print ad on Flickr:
Beautiful sunsets don't happen on weekends when I'm overlooking a scenic vista.
Beautiful sunsets happen when I'm at work, running through the parking lot to my car to retrieve my camera.
Beautiful sunsets happen over the old Sealtest factory next door to my office building.
But hey, at least beautiful sunsets happen!

August, 2009: Jack has some ice cream at the famous Dairy Freez in North Ridge Ontario.
Seconds later, Big Brother Kes jumped on a chocolate milkshake that was put, "just for a sec" in the cupholder.
The interior of the car looked like an explosion at a Sealtest factory.
It was a sticky ride home.
Strangely on the way up I saw atomicity's tweet with a similar setup featuring a Sealtest milk crate. AND I listened to the RadioLab Stochasticity episode. What are the chances?
