It's a full house here in the little three truck shop of Rhode Island's own little railroad, the Seaview Transportation Company.

The road's primary locomotive had been hand washed only a few days prior by the road's new VP (and me!) and had't looked this good in years. SVTX GP10 1855 was built as a GP9 in Aug. 1956 for the Baltimore and Ohio as their #6467. Later rebuilt by ICG's Paducah Shop she bounced around on different shortlines until coming to Rhode Island in 2006 where she was given this snappy paint job.

Here she is pulling inside the center bay out of the pouring rain into enginehouse that dates from US Navy days and will soon be demolished to make way for a highway on ramp here with the Seaview getting larger modern brand new shop nearby on the opposite side of the yard.

To her right is is 1667 a former US Army GE 80-tonner blt. Oct. 1952 and Seaview number 5. The little 1200hp EMD was blt. Feb. 1951 as NYC 8851 and served PC and CR before being sold to the PW where it served mostly as a Worcester switcher until coming to the Seaview around 2002.

At left is a dimutive two axle GE 25-tonner of unknown heritage that last worked on the defunct Kosciusko and Southwestern Railroad in Mississippi. It has recently been painted in this Seaview 'heritage' scheme paying tribute to the former owner of the line, Pete Verges who also ran the Narragansett Pier Railroad during its last years.

All four of these locomotives are operable and the Seaview has plans to paint the black 89 tonner and get another end cab switcher in service next year.

Climbing the hill for the melancholic sunset and serene moon rising, I can see the bottom of the sea. Pure life, pure water.
