Another from my early morning at Cleethorpes, with this one I stepped down to F16 rather than F20 to allow more foreground detail, I have also softened the image and slightly different composition.

Pulpit Rock is a coastal feature at Portland Bill, the southern tip of the Isle of Portland, Dorset, England. The artificial stack of rock was left in the 1870s after a natural arch was cut away by quarrymen at Bill Quarry. It was intentionally left as a quarrying relic, similar to that of Nicodemus Knob, another quarrying landmark at East Cliff. The rock has become a popular tourist attraction on the island and is often photographed.

Pair of common clownfish (Amphiprion ocellaris) care for their eggs. The male takes care of the eggs deposited on a stone under the sea anemone. The slightly larger female defends the environment.
The common clownfish, also known as the false percula clownfish or ocellaris clownfish, is a marine fish belonging to the family Pomacentridae which includes clownfishes and damselfishes.
Common clownfish are known to grow about 110 mm long.
This species is found in the Eastern Indian Ocean and in the western Pacific Ocean. Common clownfish typically lives in small groups on outer reef slopes or in sheltered lagoons at a maximal depth of 18 meters.
Common clownfish are reliant on sea anemone for shelter (they have a symbiotic relationship with the sea anemone).
Sea anemone are protection for the fish and their nests. This is because when common clownfish are in the open waters, they have a higher risk of predation. It is postulated that the fanning behavior of the fish and removal of parasites promotes the health of sea anemones which contain common clownfish. In addition, the anemone provides protection for the fish with its tentacles, however, the fish’s mucus protection prevents it from being stung by the tentacles. The presence of the clownfish can be interpreted as a lure to attract potential anemone's preys close to the tentacles. And the clownfish can also defend the anemone against some reef fishes which could eat the tentacles
Een paartje driebandanemoonvissen (Amphiprion ocellaris) tijdens hun broedzorg. Het mannetje verzorgt de eitjes afgezet op een steen on de zeeanemoon. Het iets grotere vrouwtje verdedigt de omgeving.
De driebandanemoonvis is een tropische zoutwatervis die voorkomt bij koraalriffen en boven zandgrond van 1 tot 18 meter diepte. De vis komt voor in de Indische Oceaan, Rode Zee en het westelijk deel van de Stille Oceaan en staat ook bekend onder de namen harlekijnvisje en clownvis, en natuurlijk Nemo uit de populaire Walt Disney-film 'Finding Nemo'.
Gemiddeld worden de vrouwtjes 11 cm groot en de mannetjes 8 cm.
De driebandanemoonvis leeft in een symbiotische relatie met zeeanemonen. Ze helpen en beschermen elkaar.
Hoewel de meeste vissen wanneer ze in contact komen met een anemoon verlamd worden door de tentakels met netelcellen, wordt de anemoonvis niet gestoken door de anemoon. De vis hult zich in een slijmlaag die als anemoon wordt herkend en is zo immuun tegen het gif. De vis voedt zich met parasieten die de anemoon bedreigen, voedselresten van de anemoon en kreeftjes.
Daarnaast beschermt het anemoonvisje de anemoon tegen natuurlijke vijanden, zoals vlindervissen, door ze te verjagen als ze te dichtbij komen. Soms wordt ook gezegd dat de anemoonvis andere vissen de anemoon in lokt zodat deze gevangen worden door de anemoon.

Marsh Yard Beach between Sutton on Sea and Anderby Creek. Big ships don't normally come in that close because of the shallow waters, think this ship belongs to company who taking sand off the sea bed and pumping it onto the beach.

Was he happy I asked myself. The 27th of December on a dull, grey, windy cold day in Donegal. He had to happy, why else would he be there? This man had all the time in the world, nothing was rushed. I think he was very happy indeed.

The island of Ap Lei Chau to the left, with much bigger but much less populous Lamma in the far distance.
Just west of Cleethorpes pier a couple of lads were getting ready to launch their small boat into the Humber for a fishing trip.
The silhouette of the boat and trucks caught my eye against the rising sun and water.
Copperband Butterflyfish in Burgers Ocean. The Copperband Butterflyfish or Beak Coralfish (Chelmon rostratus) is found in reefs in both the Pacific and Indian Oceans.
Found at depths of 1-25 metres either singly or in pairs, forming monogamous pairs during breeding. They are usually found on coral reefs or rocky shorelines.
These fish are easily identified by the yellow banding and long snout, juveniles being similar to adults. They grow up to 20 cm in length. This species is territorial and oviparous.
Burgers Ocean, a part of Burgers Zoo (Arnhem, the Netherlands), is a tropical reef, with living corals, coral fishes, sharks, rays and many more animal species from the tropical seas in South-east Asia.
Highlight is a tunnel through a tank with sting rays and sharks swimming over your head.
It consists of 11 very big bassins with a total content of over 8 million litres of seawater.
The largest bassin is protected by the largest window in the world, a 100 m2 and 35 cm thick.
For keeping the water clean there are 10 km in piping and a pumping capacity of 1.050 m3 per hour. They are able to produce an equavilant of 57.000 litres seawater.
In the aquariums of Burgers Ocean live over 3000 fish in 160 species, and over 5000 invertebrates in over 200 species (including 3000 corals in about 100 species), plus numerous polyps and the like.

Pincetvis in Burgers Ocean. De pincetvis (Chelmon rostratus) is een tropische zoutwatervis met een lengte tot ongeveer 20 centimeter.
De vis komt voor bij koraalriffen en rotsachtige kusten in de Indische Oceaan en het westelijke deel van de Stille Oceaan op diepten tussen 1 tot 25 meter.
De lange snuit is al aanwezig bij jonge vissen en volgroeid bij volwassen vissen.
De snuit wordt gebruikt om kleine prooidieren uit spleten en gaten in het koraal te halen.
De pincetvis leeft afzonder of in koppeltjes. Ze vormen monogame paartjes tijdens de broedzorg. Agressief territoriaal gedrag is de vis niet vreemd.
Burgers Ocean, een deel van Burgers Zoo, is een tropisch rif, waar je levende koralen, koraalvissen, haaien, roggen en nog veel meer diersoorten uit de tropische zeeën van Zuidoost-Azië kunt zien.
Burgers Ocean, het grootste aquarium in Nederland en Europa, bestaat uit 11 zeer grote aquaria met een totale inhoud van meer dan 8 miljoen liter zeewater. Hoogtepunt is een glazen tunnel door een aquarium waar roggen en haaien naast en boven je hoofd zwemmen.
Het grootste aquarium wordt beschermd door de grootste raam in de wereld met een oppervlakte van 100 m2 en 35 cm dik glas. Om het water schoon te houden zijn er 10 km leidingen en pompen met een capaciteit van 1.050 m3 per uur.
In de aquaria van Burgers Ocean leven ruim 3000 vissen in 160 soorten, en meer dan 5000 ongewervelde dieren in ruim 200 soorten (waaronder 3000 koralen in zo'n 100 soorten), plus talloze poliepen en dergelijke._______________________________________________________________________________
