Kedleston Hall (NT) - the imposing Marble Hall
Brought to mind "I dreamt I dwelt in marble halls" by Enya
P.S. A major admission here: I did not know, until much later when I read the novel, 'The Secret Scripture', that this song is from the operetta 'The Bohemian Girl' by Michael William Balfe, lyrics by Alfred Bunn. From the novel by Sebastian Barry, "… he [Joe] would be heard singing wonderfully, 'I dreamt that I dwelt in marble halls' from the operetta The Bohemian Girl, one of his favourite operettas." (p.9)
There is a version of the song, truer to its origins than that of Enya's (link given above) as sung by Jessie Norman: The Bohemian Girl
"Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word."
