Pachybrachis sp. - one of the case-bearing leaf beetles, on Willow Oak

I actually did a *gulp* wedding this weekend... my first and last. The images are turning out quite nicely, but the STRESS!!

This image was heavily inspired by a photo I saw on Flickr by [Leb],

I just thought it look like some sort of foreign writing.

“In the last days, God says,

I will pour out my Spirit on all people.

Your sons and daughters will prophesy,

your young men will see visions,

your old men will dream dreams." -Acts 2:17

Time for Holy Writings and time for little light readings, we're human

This is a close up of a box my Grandmother kept her handwritten notes of favorite Bible scriptures. One of my favorite things I received from her.

Dear friend, here are 5 things you should know:

1. Like it or not, we are ALL sinners: As the Scriptures say, “No one is righteous—not even one. No one is truly wise; no one is seeking God. All have turned away; all have become useless. No one does good, not a single one.” (Romans 3:10-12 NLT)

2. The punishment for sin is death: When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned. (Romans 5:12 NLT)

3. Jesus is our only hope: But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. (Romans 5:8 NLT) For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23 NLT)

4. SALVATION is by GRACE through FAITH in JESUS: God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. (Ephesians 2:8-10 NLT)

5. Accept Jesus and receive eternal life: If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9 NLT) But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. (John 1:12 NLT) And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God’s Son does not have life. (1 John 5:11-12 NLT)

Read the Bible for yourself. Allow the Lord to speak to you through his Word. YOUR ETERNITY IS AT STAKE!

Sincerely,

Someone who cares about you

Something so calming about the ruins. I photographed these pages after they spent so much time in terrific weather conditions.

Focus in Prayer Is Difficult to Recapture

1 Corinthians 7:35; 2 Timothy 1:7

He who interrupts the course of his spiritual exercises and prayer is like a man who allows a bird to escape from his hand; he can hardly catch it again.

The scriptures flags hanging around the mountains sides and peaks to show their respect.

The Sixth Seal.. The sky vanished like a scroll that is being rolled up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place.

Scripture taken from 1 Corinthians chapter 13.

This week is going to be a tough one for a few people I know.....

When you lose someone you love, that love will never end, and we have this hope in God that, when you know the Lord Jesus Christ as your Saviour, one day in Glory, we will see our loved ones again :)

Stay strong and true my friends and hold on to your faith :)

He hummed out loud a melody that left the world without a sound. The quiet streets, just the whistling of the breeze, I want to be the air you breathe. When you can't hang on I'm all you need.

I enjoyed this particular day hiking in Hampton Township, Michigan. It helps to visualize the message of trusting the Lord with our life journey..."Show me the right path Lord..."

2 Timothy 3:16–17 (ESV)

16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

SCRIPTURE—invariably in the New Testament denotes that definite collection of sacred books, regarded as given by inspiration of God, which we usually call the Old Testament (2 Tim. 3:15, 16; John 20:9; Gal. 3:22; 2 Pet. 1:20). It was God’s purpose thus to perpetuate his revealed will. From time to time he raised up men to commit to writing in an infallible record the revelation he gave. The “Scripture,” or collection of sacred writings, was thus enlarged from time to time as God saw necessary. We have now a completed “Scripture,” consisting of the Old and New Testaments. The Old Testament canon in the time of our Lord was precisely the same as that which we now possess under that name. He placed the seal of his own authority on this collection of writings, as all equally given by inspiration (Matt. 5:17; 7:12; 22:40; Luke 16:29, 31).

Your word is a lamp to my feet

and a light for my path.

Psalm 119:105

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said,

"I am the light of the world.

Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness,

but will have the light of life."

John 8:12

You are the light of the world.

A city on a hill cannot be hidden.

Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl.

Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.

In the same way, let your light shine before men,

that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

Matthew 5:14-16

This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you:

God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.

If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness,

we lie and do not live by the truth.

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light,

we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus,

his Son, purifies us from all sin.

1 John 1:5-7

O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you!

The small white stupas (pagodas), at the foot of Mandalay Hill, are known as the world’s largest book with a marble slab inside each stupa, as pages, inscribed on both sides with the text of Buddhist scriptures. There are 730 in total.

Local masons built this church by eye rather than from a plan. Edwin Sandys, 16th century Archbishop of York and Hawkshead’s most famous son, raised the roof and installed a clerestory. William Wordsworth worshipped here when a boy at Hawkshead Grammar School. The tower contains a peal of eight bells, five of them dating from 1765. Unique 17th and 18th century scripture texts adorn the walls as do some fine Georgian monuments including one to a Lord Mayor of London.

This historic Lake District church, a key feature of the village, has several unique features. There was a Norse chapel here once, and an early church was built in the 13th century. The present building is mostly 16th and 17th century with some 14th century work in the tower. The round arches of the arcade suggest Norman work, but are in fact the work of local masons, who built this church by eye rather than from a plan.

For to the one who has, more will be given, and he will have an abundance, but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away
