When I figured out the yardage I'd need for my text hexies and it came out to 12 yards (!!!), I should have known something was up. Plus I got it from fabric.com, which gives 37 inches per yard, so it's even more! With the layout I'm using, I don't need a lot of connecting and center hexies, so this is weird. I hope I have enough stash to make the flowers! This is so crazy! BTW, it's for a queen size hexie quilt and I'm doing it by hand. This makes something I thought was doable seem overwhelming. I think if I work with half yards, I'll be okay ...

We even learned some basics in script-writing and each group had to create their own script for a short film. We then presented our scripts and were surprised to learn that one of the scripts would be made into an actual short film.

uneiform script,[a] one of the earliest systems of writing, was invented by the Sumerians.[3] It is distinguished by its wedge-shaped marks on clay tablets, made by means of a blunt reed for a stylus. The name cuneiform itself simply means "wedge shaped".[4][5]

Emerging in Sumer in the late fourth millennium BC (the Uruk IV period) to convey the Sumerian language, which was a language isolate, cuneiform writing began as a system of pictograms, stemming from an earlier system of shaped tokens used for accounting. In the third millennium, the pictorial representations became simplified and more abstract as the number of characters in use grew smaller (Hittite cuneiform). The system consists of a combination of logophonetic, consonantal alphabetic and syllabic signs.
