"The Rosetta Stone is a granodiorite stele, found in 1799 [near the town of Rashid (Rosetta) in the Nile Delta of Egypt], inscribed with three versions of a decree issued at Memphis, Egypt in 196 BC during the Ptolemaic dynasty on behalf of King Ptolemy V. The top and middle texts are in Ancient Egyptian using hieroglyphic script and Demotic script, respectively, while the bottom is in Ancient Greek. As the decree has only minor differences between the three versions, the Rosetta Stone proved to be the key to deciphering Egyptian hieroglyphs." (source)

Roman-script Pali Tipitaka Manuscript
One of the most difficult and time-consumming tasks during the 6-year project of printing the World Tipitaka Edition is the editing process which has been done behind the scene and in confidentiality among designated scholars.
These digital manuscripts are part of the Dhamma Society's World Tipitaka Project Archives which will soon be available for international scholars in the field of Pali editing methodology in accordance with the Great Buddhist Theravada Council.
Over 280,000 pages from 7 manuscript editions of the 40-volume Pali Tipitaka in Roman script have been recorded for procedural transparency and as evidence of scholarly editing from the International Council Pali Tipitaka manuscripts.
