So here's the backlight without the touchscreen (there is an anti-glare screen-protector on it from Boxscreen).
Keep in mind that while it is brighter with the 4AA battery mod, this is in very low light. The exposure settings and touch of flash that I added make it appear that the screen is much brighter than it is in what appears to be (but what is not) normal light.

As the D750 screen comes without any plastic screen protector I decided to try Expert Shield protector. Unlike the snap on plastic covers, film based covers protect mainly from scratches but are also close to invisible when attached carefully (which I failed to do).
Never used these before on my DSLRs, phones or tablets so it was interesting to order one and test it. Expert Shield should be one of the best brands and price of one screen protector set is much less than buying snap on plastic screen protector from Nikon.
After first try applying it, there was dust piece trapped in the middle of screen. It was also showing against light background photos when monitor on, so I wanted to remove it. I carefully lifted the screen protector from one side and got the dust away with sticky tape. After the operation to remove dust, there was more bubbles or dust pieces under the two edges that I couldn't get away.
Good thing is that these bubbles only show when screen is turned off. When screen is on, they are on the edge area and not overlapping with image preview. Can't fully agree "without air bubbles" promise but this far I been happy with Expert Shield.
After two months of use, there starts to be appearing small scratches on the shield. Better scratch the film protector than screen.

I've been searching for the perfect replacement camera strap ever since I got my D700. I think the Nikon strap that it comes with is worse than all of the other straps on the other bodies that I've owned. It's thin and feels plasticy. It's just cheap! I never thought any of the other straps were bad enough to replace them. At least they were made out of a thicker and softer material that didn’t slice your neck.
This is what I was looking for:
1)plain black, no logos, simple simple simple
2)no quick releases, nothing that adds bulk
3)no metal fittings
4)neoprene material in the neck area
5)at least 1.5” wide
You would think that it would be pretty easy to find something that fits those five criteria, but it’s really not. At first, I got this LowePro neoprene strap. I had to mod this one too because it had metal quick release fittings. I didn’t want those scratching up my camera so I removed them. I liked the strap but the neoprene was too stretchy when I had the D700 decked out with the grip, flash, and a big lens. The camera would be bouncing around more than I liked it to while I was moving. For a smaller camera like the D40, it’s a perfect upgrade from the Nikon strap.
When I got my D300, the seller threw in a LowePro Voyager C strap along with it. I used it once while at the zoo. The big thing that I didn’t like about this strap is the huge plastic quick release buckles. When you use the camera in a vertical orientation, those things are all over the place and get in the way. One of the buckles scratched LCD screen protector just from that one day of using it. I liked everything else about this strap, though. The strap is neoprene but it has a reinforcement strap inside that keeps it from stretching too much. It is nice and wide so the weight of the camera is more spread out on your neck. It’s plain black with no logos except for a small LowePro deboss at the end of the strap. I tried to think of how I could modify the strap without having to buy any extra hardware and this is what I came up with.
I used a dremel to cut the plastic buckles off of the strap. One half of the buckle is connected to the main part of the strap and the other half of the buckle is connected to the strap extension. So there are a total of four buckles to cut. Next, I took the metal rings that are supposed to attach to the camera body and used them to connect the extensions to the main part of the strap. These rings are small and are mostly covered by the strap loops so they will not scratch the body. I also removed one of the plastic adjusters from each of the extensions because they were not needed. Click here to see what this strap looks like originally. I leave the memory card holder off of the strap just to keep it less bulky but I can always attach it when needed.
I’m very happy with this strap now and I think I’ll be using it for a long time. I’m a big fan of using something that I already have if possible so that’s part of the satisfaction. I want to try out the Black Rapid R-Strap if I can find it for cheap on eBay. For now, at least my neck is thanking me for putting the D700 strap back in the box.

19.04.17: I had planned to wait until the V6 edition, but while the V4 is operating normally except for the damaged control ring (not interested in sending it in for repairs back to Ontario), I decided to upgrade.

1/05/17: Lensmate filter adapter attached as well as Sony grip.
Shooting with this cam and RX10M3 yesterday. What a diff in the focusing. Trying to capture a seaplane against a white (Overcast) background, at 600mm (with monopod), was frustrating to say the least. The RX100V5, IMO, would have nailed it.
The 100V captured the shots I was going for in the midst of passengers coming out of Customs, that I would not have with the V4.
My combo for traveling depending on the area (Alaska cruise). For air travel the RX100m5 and the RX1.
11.02.19: Processing: Changed from Aperture to Lightroom 6 and then to Capture One( several years before their conversion t the 'Cloud' as Sony colours and processing were/was better in my opinion). C1's annual upgrade fee doubled in the last year so I opted for Capture One Sony instead. I have copies of both Luminar 3 (I prefer the latter to ON1, and ON1 (I really thought that ON1 would replaceLightroom for me, but Raw shots had colour fringing while the other apps did not, but I am sticking to C1 Sony for my Catalog, while processing as needed with Luminar 3 and Aurora 19 (more so than with Topaz.

The LCD screen is fitted with the screen protector already. I have asked the folks from the camera store to fix it up to me as I remembered that my clumsy hands did a bad job of putting on Invisible Shield on my HTC Touch Diamond. Haha!

Just got this in Saturday ~ just put it on tonight ... it works LOL ~ it's crystal freakin' clear! Encases my iPod almost 100% - can still charge it and have headphone plug access no problem ... I love the idea of having a hard shell over the screen and it's supposed to be scratch resistant. I got about 30,000 fingerprints all over it taking it out of the box and putting it on, etc - but it cleans up extremely easily! It's extremely thin and lightweight - I'm going to see if my stylus pops onto it, also ... I really hope this case works out!
