My thoughts on this camera since ditching my Canon 7D? I don't miss the DSLR at all. The OM-D is not perfect, but it is a very capable camera.
Likes:
- Super fast auto focus-- and reliable, too.
- This is a combo of the lens and the auto focus, but my photos are SHARP.
- Lots of accessories available
- Does pretty well in low light. I don't think the noise is unreasonable.
- It's light and portable. Don't attract attention like a big DSLR.
- It's sold and seems durable.
Dislikes:
- The button to change the focus area is right where my thumb goes. I change it all the time accidentally.
- The menus are exhausting to figure out.
- Adjusting settings is still not intuitive for me. It takes me a second to find what I'm looking for.
18.10.15: Ordered the M4 today, along with a screen protector and grip CD$1099.00. The latter not much over the price in US$'s (by comparison to Apple's nearly 35% exchange rate on CDN iPads or iPhones).

19.10.15: Shipped.
20.10.15: Delivered. Expect delivery of 64gb card today and Lensmate adaptor next week. Cam setup, now for some test shots.
22.10.15: Lexar 64GB SDXC UHS-II and Sony Grip arrived and installed. 2 PP shots posted. Focusing is faster, and rendering on my 27" mac display appears to me to be marginally better than the M3, in particular one portrait so far.
This morning I shot some tests of the tower on Mt. Doug, and pixel peeped in LR6.1 @ 1:1. Not bad for the distance.
27.10.15: Lensmate adaptor delivered ( for circ polariser).
24.12.15: I do not often use a flash, but usually do at family gatherings, and did at last few this season (so far). This cam, for me, is more suited for my landscape and portrait photography than for these gatherings. The RX1`00M4 has proven to be the best so far (although I plan to try out the RX10M2 and flash today).
25.04.16: Early Spring with warmer than normal temps and travel plans. Have not made up my mind on what cams I will be taking to Alaska (7 day cruise). The RX10M2 would seem to be ideal, but so would the RX1 along with the 100m4. The vagaries of the weather (as experienced on previous trips) means that the DMZ-TS5 will be in my pocket. I can take more than one cam as flying is not necessary :). Ditto when RVing in B.C and Alberta.
5.12.16: Left the rx1 & rx10 at home in order to travel light, as well as, to see how well I could do with this cam and the iPhone7+. Happy so far.
The saying "built like a tank" was put to the test this afternoon. While going up stairs (open stairwell) the camera fell out of the bag it was in, bounced off a step and fell onto a tile floor ( about a 6 foot drop overall). Not a scratch and all systems working!
14.12.16: Finally getting around to correcting the above, in that the corner of the dial was the main impact area, and is slightly bent. Enough so that the dial can only be turned clock wise, not counter. The lens also was impacted in that the filter adaptor will not screw on anymore. Other than some mixed up electronics, the cam continues to record as well as before. I guess this cam will not be sold in preparation for the M5 :(
10.04.17: Debating about upgrading to the M5 only because of the damage sustained by the drop. I currently have three wide rubber bands in place to keep the Control Ring in place ( two seals and the outer dial ). The camera works normally for me - I do not use the ring. The downside is pulling it out of a tight pocket and the bands catching, and pulling off. Aprox. $250 more in CD$ than US$.

I acquired two HP Primes for my children who are in Jr. High and High school. The Primes were purchased from Walmart in the USA, which as of July 2018 was the lowest priced seller of any I could find. I myself own an HP28S which is purchased for engineering school in 1989, and a 48GX with 128MB FRAM card and Meta Kernel, and the 50g.

I was originally enrolled into the GETTY IMAGES collection as a contributor on April 9th 2012, and when links with FLICKR were terminated in March 2014, I was retained and fortunate enough to be signed up via a second contract, both of which have proved to be successful with sales of my photographs all over the world now handled exclusively by them.
On November 12th 2015 GETTY IMAGES unveiled plans for a new stills upload platform called ESP (Enterprise Submission Platform), to replace the existing 'Moment portal', and on November 13th I was invited to Beta test the new system prior to it being officially rolled out in December. ESP went live on Tuesday December 15th 2015 and has smoothed out the upload process considerably.
These days I take a far more liesurely approach to my photographic exploits, and having moved from professional Nikon equipment to consumer bodies and lenses, I travel light less constraints and more emphasis on the pure capture of the beauty that I see, more akin to my original persuits and goals some five decades previously when starting out. The Park was first mentioned back in the thirteenth century when it was owned by the de Scathebury family. It is also a Site of Metropolitan Importance for Nature Conservation, with over 300 acres of land, and is part of an extensive wildlife corridor together with Petts Wood and the Jubilee Country Park.

I ventured to the Apple store this evening to get a Crystal Film screen protector for the iPhone, but they were sold out.
We're invading The Glass is Half Empty :(
Which is fitting, since I just got my nifty fifty back, so I don't need to use my trusty Samsung phone camera anymore.
It's seen better days. I cracked the glass a while back, but a quick screen protector made it usable.
Sadly a couple of weeks ago, it fell on the ground, on gravel. Now I have proper LCD damage, and the screen flashes and the phone reboots.
Good thing It's upgrade time on my mobile contact.

The sun came out, which was really nice to see after all the rain we've had! I borrowed a friend's large TV screen protector and placed it on the ground underneath a tree. The ugly edges of the screen protector limited the angle a bit and I wish I had gotten more reflection of the branches in the shot. Next time!
I also should have paid more attention to Flint's position since I'm not particularly fond of the bright sun on one side of him, but he was much more interested in what the city workers were doing up the street than posing for me. I like that I got some blue color on the reflector from the blue sky and I also like that I can actually see the brown in his left eye, something that I usually cannot capture.
I'm going to give this another try in the future because I think it has a lot of potential.
How do you handle shooting in bright sun and how do you avoid and post process blown highlights?
