It is missing the characteristic long tails giving it its name.
Due to a resolution of the municipality of Utrecht, the colored LBGTQ ideology was granted by coloring the cycle path through the science park.

De frequentie van de testritten op de toekomstige lijn 22 naar De Uithof in Utrecht wordt geleidelijk opgevoerd. Naast dagen met instructieritten zijn er ook dagen waarop de toekomstige dienstregeling wordt gesimuleerd, te beginnen met 6 trams per uur en toewerkend naar 16 trams per uur. Dat laatste is nu nog niet haalbaar, zo meldde de provincie in april. Er zijn vier technische infrastructuurproblemen gevonden. Oplossingen zijn in beeld, maar op dit moment is nog niet te zeggen of er gevolgen zijn voor de planning. De Uithoflijn zou uiterlijk eind dit jaar - en zo mogelijk eerder - in gebruik genomen moeten worden

Hoewel het grootse deel van de Utrechtse tramlijn naar de Uithof/Sciencepark door of langs bebouwde omgeving voert, zijn er toch ook stukken waar- met een beetje fantasie- de sfeer van een buitenlijn kan worden opgesnoven. Zoals hier langs de Heidelberglaan, vlakbij het WKZ/Maxima kinderziekenhuis.

Er zit onmiskenbaar iets van voorjaar in de lucht. Op het kruispunt Heidelberglaan/Hoofddijk lijkt lijn 22 eventjes een interlokale tram.
Can you identify this one for me? See below under Hearlover1717 who has solved this mystery for me of why there are antennae at both ends .
Het eerste deel van lijn 22 is eigenlijk een "Stadbahn" of pre-metro: direct na de met 15 km/h doorlopen scherpe S-boog wordt opgeschakeld naar 70 km/h op een parallel aan de spoorbaan verlopend recht traject van 1.4 kilometer naar de eerste halte.
De stellen 6017+24 lopen bij binnenkomst uit Sciencepark bijna stapvoets door de S-boog.
Rechts arriveert over spoor 7 de IC naar Amsterdam en Enkhuizen.
Achter de tram bevindt zich het enige overloopwissel dat ik op de hele lijn kon ontdekken... Dit betekent dat bij een stremming onderweg de hele lijn stil komt te liggen- er kan immers nergens ingekort/gekeerd worden...
