Utrecht colorful Science Park
Due to a resolution of the municipality of Utrecht, the colored LBGTQ ideology was granted by coloring the cycle path through the science park.

My first close encounter with the latest Intercity train of the type ICNG of NS was at the yard Watergraafsmeer in Amsterdam where this new train was stowed for the moment to make test runs.
NS Intercity Nieuwe Generatie
Intercity New Generation (ICNG for short) is the project name for the purchase of new single-deck trainsets of the Dutch Railways (NS). The Coradia Stream trains are designed and built by Alstom and are intended for the NS intercity network. The trains are intended to replace older stock (such as the oldest ICMm and all ICRm), but also to accommodate the growth in the number of passengers. The trainsets will be used on the main rail network, the traditional railway network of NS, and also on the HSL South, where they will indirectly replace the V250.
NS has the plan to start using the new trains from 2021 on the route Breda - Rotterdam - Schiphol - Amsterdam. They start operating on the Eindhoven - Breda - Rotterdam - The Hague route. From 2023, the Breda - Rotterdam - Schiphol - Amsterdam South service will be extended to Almere - Lelystad - Zwolle - Assen - Groningen / Meppel - Heerenveen - Leeuwarden. The international operation on the route to Antwerp and Brussels will start from 2025.

ELL 193 766 is één van de twee locs die door NSR ingezet word voor de IC Berlijn tussen Amsterdam en Bad Bentheim. Op onregelmatige basis is de loc, of haar tweelingzusje 193 759 te zien voor de Duitse rijtuigen. Er zou momenteel al volgens een vaste omloop gereden moeten worden, dit blijkt echter nog niet het geval. In november zat de Vectron nog bij wijze van een instructierit voor IC148.

The first refurbished Thalys, PBKA 4341 parked at the Nedtrain depot in Watergraafsmeer and waiting for departure as Thalys 9376 from Amsterdam (departure 17h15) to Paris Nord (arrival 20h35).
The Thalys Welcome Bar has gone and has been replaced by this Kiosk.

The recently completed Ken Spencer Outdoor Science Park at the Telus World of Science complex on the east end of False Creek in Vancouver BC.
Na het plaatje in Ede werd koers gezet naar Science Park om daar het transport van 1800en op te wachten. VolkerRail 203-1 heeft in Maastricht zes geplukte exemplaren aangehaakt om deze naar de Dijksgracht te brengen. Vlak voordat de Sprinter richting Diemen in beeld kwam (ik moest al een stuk naar voren) kon trein 51920 op de chip gezet worden.

Another lunchtime walk saw an unidentified class 45 about to pass under Pritchatts Rd bridge, Edgbaston in Birmingham, it is heading for New Street with the 10.38 Taunton - Manchester.
The scene has undergone much change since this was taken on 23/08/1978. To the right are the neglected and overgrown back gardens of some demolished pre-fab houses, these have been replaced by a Science Park that has graffiti covered brick walls looming over the railway. The line has now been electrified and the canal banks re-finished in white crushed stone, tall strong metal fences abound.

A nice combination between toll gates and a bicycle and pedestrian bridge that was opened in 2018 as a connection between the Indische Buurt and Science Park.
The bridge has a door that stops the water. This is the most striking element of the building: the red door that is raised in the middle. At high tide, this door goes down. The bridge was opened in January 2018.
There are two so-called toll doors in the Ringvaart; at the Wibautstraat and after the Hartmanbrug at the Valentijnkade. During high water or a dike breach, these are used to mitigate the consequences of a flood in the Watergraafsmeer. The Ringvaart is divided into compartments by these two doors that keep water out.

Lady Mitchell Hall, University of Cambridge. Candid portrait of Dr Sir John Bradfield, just after one of the Darwin College lectures earlier this year.
I had the privilege of sitting next to him during one of the college dinners and we talked about his two "babies": Darwin College and the Cambridge Science Park. How many people have the distinction of founding a college? As the Bursar of Trinity College, one of the founding colleges of Darwin, he helped found Cambridge's first graduate college in 1964. Who can say they set up a Science Park? Again, in 1975, Bradfield was the one behind Cambridge's famous (Trinity) Science Park, the first science park in Europe.
I was struck by his sharp, probing mind and his curious nature. Last week, at the annual Darwin Dinner, he stood up and gave an amazing after-dinner speech on his personal recollections about the founding of the college. He's still going strong considering he's 88-years-old!
