Lahore, 15-11-2015: Alkhidmat Foundation held the annual Alfalah Scholarship Scheme convention at Awan-e-Iqbal, Lahore. Position holding students from all over Pakistan participated in the convention. Cheddington is a small village to the north of Tring, in Hertfordshire.
The purpose was to raise money for various charities.

The European Union (EU) availed 6 million Euro support to assist improve income, food and nutrition security of small holder communal farmers involved in small scale irrigation in Zimbabwe.
This will be achieved through physical rehabilitation of irrigation schemes and enhancement of production and marketing capacities.

AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi went on a tour of various villages in U.P including the Naxal-affected Chandauli and Mirzapur districts of eastern UP. His visit was without any notice.
Rahul Gandhi asked people regarding their problems. People complained that the state Government is not doing anything for the common man. Rahul Gandhi also asked why people from U.P migrates to other places for want of search. Because other states is developing and cares for the people but Uttar Pradesh not. Rahul Gandhi held chaupals and interacted with the villagers, asking them about their problems, implementation of Centrally funded schemes, especially MGNREGA and whether payments were made regularly to workers.

The Tirana Community Bicycle Albania project won financial support from the George Soros-funded Open Society Foundation Albania (OSFA). An even larger contribution came from the US-based Pedal for Progress organisation, which donated 450 bicycles. Sixty of these were used road bikes, which were modified and painted by local technicians to serve as public bikes in the Eco-Volis scheme. Another portion were set aside to donate to children and to activists and volunteers in PASS. Still another portion were diverted to the project's Eco Bicycle Shop, a social enterprise which sells bikes for USD 50-150 and reinvests profits for the service and maintenance of Eco-Volis bicycles. The Eco-Volis scheme, which is supported by Tirana City Hall, was recently launched with five bike stations, each staffed by two people in two shifts. Having started with five stations employing 10 people, the scheme is envisioned to expand to 12 stations (24 staff) within its first year. Project staff continue to fund raise for donations and sponsorship agreements. The pressing needs are for improved infrastructure at the bike stations, better quality bicycles, payroll support for station workers and the addition of further stations. This is still difficult because the lack of infrastructure for bicycles and the bicycle culture makes it a bit skeptical, but we continue to believe that this is a good thing and we should try all ways possible.

National Gardens Scheme - Barnet, Hertfordshire
The owners of this garden open it up for public viewing several times each year, in aid of the UK National Gardens Scheme. The purpose of opening their garden is to raise money for charity.
This is probably one of the finest urban gardens we've seen since spending some of our leisure time visiting other people's gardens!
