These images were taken during the fourth+ week of September 2014. The guys were now working to reinforce the riverside of the sheetpiling, buttressing with large boulders, and an overlay of smaller gravel. Most of the sheet piles were driven into place. Work now involved re-inforcing the base of the sheet wall. On this side of the river, that work required the placement of steel-rod reinforced concrete pouring. They also finally got around to 'topping' the steel piles -- using hand-held oxy-acetylene torch. I was kinda hoping they'd have a plasma cutter. However the work was done quickly, neatly and with little inconvenience to local residents

Ashlyn is now 10 weeks and 1 day old. Here she is enjoying some interactive time with her Mommy and Grandma this evening. Dare I say "cheeky little imp" ? :)

Last July Alan Kelly, then minister of state for public transport, unveiled a new bike-share system in Cork. Five years after the start of the very successful Dublin Bike Scheme, cycling was finally to be rolled out beyond the capital.
Unfortunately the scheme in Cork encountered a lot of resistance and many of the of the 31 promised bike stations were delayed. At the time of my visit 30 stations [330 bikes] were operational but I did not notice many people using the bicycles.
Last year a majority of city councillors called for a halt in construction of National Transport Authority-funded cycle lanes near Kent Station, following lobbying from business.
Young people from the Give and Take Scheme in the western area enjoyed a fantastic workplace tour of Terex Omagh yesterday. The Terex team well and truly pulled up their socks and put on an absolutely fantastic tour.

The Northern Ireland Assembly Committee for Employment and Learning made a transition from Parliament Buildings to the offices of Include Youth in Omagh today to hear from staff and young people about the benefits of a new transitional support service.
During their visit to Omagh Community House, MLAs met with young people currently and previously involved with Include Youth’s Give and Take Scheme.
The purpose of the visit was to hear first-hand from young people, often referred to as ‘NEETs’ (not in education, employment or training), about their experiences of moving from one organisation to another.
