Be gentle when she shows you her scars.
It takes more courage to remove one's armour,
than to assemble it. ♥

Howick Scar, not the highest tide but nice to get a bit further out on this rock for a view from the side

The River Wye bends off around to the right at this point, centre photo the cliff face covered by trees is called the Scar, a footpath runs along the top through the trees to a hamlet called Monnington-on-Wye.
Thank you for your visit and your comments, they are greatly appreciated.
It was finally great to escape from the rigours of lockdown and get some fresh air and new images. A quick nip up to Twisleton Scar after a round of golf at Lancaster in sunny warm conditions. Great also to meet up with Pete Rowbottam here and watch his mastery of flying his drone!
The weather however changed very rapidly in the 45 minutes before sunset, the temperatures dropped significantly and a cold strong wind had Pete's drone rapidly recalled to base. It was a good job I had my winter stuff and a flask of hot tea in my rucksack to ward off the chill as dusk set in.
This limestone finger leading to the tree and Ingleborough provided a decent subject until we moved to get a sunset shot on the scar end. A nice hour of freedom at the end of a long 3 months.
Saw this great pumpkin at my local Whole Foods recently. I just LOVE pumpkins...the gnarlier and scarred the better!

It is inevitable. We learn to live with those scars, or they kill us long before we actually die. Small scars, large, scars as long and deep as the ocean—they define us; they become a part of our life map.

ℓιѕтєи: Remind Me to Forget
Scars remind us of where we have been and what we have overcome. They remind us that we can never be hurt that badly ever again. But most of all, we can look at our scars and feel pride and comfort that they exist --- because they mean we have healed.
Another of the many shots I took on a revisit to upper Crummack Dale in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
I waited for quite a while to get some light on this scene as the clouds cleared to light up the area around Moughton Scar. (For fellow Lancastrian's you can see the dark hulk of Pendle on the far right distant horizon) .
First full day to relax after my hols yesterday & with the Lake District’s weather forecast looking dodgy & Tuesday’s weather, on paper at least, looking the brightest of the week for LFA7, I headed to one of my favourite locations (for how quiet it is compared to most locations in this part of Wales!) for some fresh air & tranquility.
The day started quiet but the thunder soon arrived with Liberty Wing dropping in, again about midday, 41(TES) & 29 Squadron then followed, interspersed with spirited passes by 72 Sqn. The highlight were the visitors from 3 Wing at CFB Bagotville which are based at RAF Waddington at the moment for Ex Cobra Warrior - a reminder why I still pursue the hobby. The RCAF never disappoints!
This was the ex-demo jet from 2022 cranking around the turn on its first pass. I’ve never been a fan of special paint jobs, preferring standard ops colours on jets but this scheme certainly hits the spot.

Lethal slippery limestone posed a few compositional problems here as I slithered around on the top of Little Scar.
This small area of limestone pavement offers wonderful sunset views back down Ribblehead to the Viaduct and the shapely summit of Inglebprough to the left!
I did get a bit of a drenching, along with fellow hardy photographer John Bleakley, as we waited for a bit of light to appear as the rain storm passed us by.

Cuttle Pool Nature Reserve was used for sand and gravel extraction from the 1930s and later for the dumping of building waste. Warwickshire Wildlife Trust took the site over in 2012, and nature is slowly overcoming the scars.

The view along the Limestone Scar of Moughton from Capple Bank. The dark looking hill in the distance is Ingleborough.
I had a marvellous walk all around this area, which was a first for me. I think I covered 13 miles and I found some fascinating spots for photography. Conditions weren't ideal but I came away with some nice locations on my list to revisit at some point.
