plugging-in the scanner showed this helpful error message 'no application registered for this event' - so how do I 'register and application for this event'? Tell me that your mean teasers. The drivers are updated, the machine is rebooted, what more can I do?

This is a photo that I was forced to take for a "scanner as a camera" project in class. Although this took almost no effort to produce and looks sort of childish, I thought it was cute in an iSpy sort of way...
Starting with an odd duck, Acros II is better known for its long reciprocity, but not for its ability to go beyond box speed. So how will it fare in such a strong movement in either direction? And the results certainly surprised me as they worked out a lot better than I expected, not the best, but certainly usable.

I don't have access to a negative scanner at the moment so I (unsuccessfully) attempted to make my own with my flatbed scanner and a lamp.
