Innovative Technology's photo scanner has been pretty useful to me despite its limitations and shortcomings. The software can be VERY slow to get going at times. And, as shown here,
the scanned photo will often show some sort of 'reflections' at the edges. These have to be
edited from the final image by one means or another.

We got a new scanner at work. My job is to waste time playing around with it install the drivers and make sure everything is functioning properly.
I cannoni da neve erano montati su una slitta, per poter essere spostati grazie al traino da parte dei gatti delle nevi. Ma i cannoni vanno portati sulle piste quando la neve ancora non c'è: ecco allora il trasporto in camion. L'autista di questo camion era un tipo piuttosto flemmatico: ricordo che, su un tornante in salita, il camion cominciò a scivolare all'indietro, verso uno strapiombo impressionante. Eravamo tutti lì a chiederci cosa sarebbe successo: il camionista non battè ciglio; ingranò la retromarcia, assecondò lo scivolone, si riprese con ampio margine e ricominciò la salita come se non fosse successo niente. E chissà mai perché sulle ruote anteriori c'era montata solo una catena... sarà stato un segreto del mestiere!
