Gave my CANON A-1 another outing to see if the strange 'exposure fault' had been cured -- YES -- it seemed to be OK now! I loaded with the last cassette of 1993 bulk HP5+ and used my Home-Made FX-15 formula at 'stock strength' again and it gave wonderful negs with excellent 'Acutance' -- under a x6 Magnifier to old Canon FD 35mm f3.5 lens resolved very fine details. I rated the 1993 film at 125 ASA . I did PRINTS of these and scanned with HP Scanjet 4570 flatbed. Canon Breechlock 35mm f3.5 @ f3.5 and Yellow Filter. OH DEAR !! I forgot to add some 'Unsharp Mask' to the scans !

This picture was taken a long time ago. I had a dog and cat who were the best of friends. They even slept together in the same dog house. This is Boris, my basset hound, and Walter, my cat, relaxing on the back deck. This photo was taken with a Canon EOS 650 film body and a Canon 50 mm f1.8 lens. The original 35 mm Kodacolor RG-V 400 negative was scanned at 1200 dpi resolution with a Hewlett Packard scanjet 4850 flatbed scanner.

What activity and colorful ceremonies must have taken place in this enormous temple city. Tikal was abandoned to the rainforest many hundreds of years before first European contact. It was "rediscovered" from the air in the early 1900s as astounded pilots saw the overgrown pyramids towering above the canopy of the forest.

These didn't see the light of day before.

I took two pictures on the Crown with my Symmar-S "converted". The old 150 Symmar was marked as "convertible". If you took off the front element you got a slower but longer lens.

The Symmar-S is pretty much the same lens but no longer marked as "convertible". So I did the obvious thing and took a few pics with it without the front element. I'm here to tell you the new lens is NOT convertible. You can see very strong chromatic aberation that gets worse the further to the edges you get. You won't see any of that fringing with both elements in place.

A literally freezing cold morning in Itatiaia National Park, 1993 (I think). The Park, in Rio de Janeiro state, reaches 2291 metres at its highest point (Pico das Agulhas Negras) and is the oldest National Park in Brazil, having been founded in 1937. Because of the altitude, subzero temperatures in Winter are not uncommon. It even snows there on rare occasions.

The next day I caught flu and had to drive back to Rio.
