When my girlfriend and I went to NYC, I brought along my trusty Vivitar PN2011 and some rolls of expired film I found heading for the dumpster at the newspaper where I work. I'm quite impressed with how the film turned out, since I had no clue when it had expired.
This is a shot of the Empire State Building from the Top of the Rock tour of Rockefeller Center.

This is the best of the retakes of "the one that got away".
I decided to use the Saturday morning of my departure to try and get a really iconic shot of San Francisco to take away. After a very long tour through the hills looking for a decent view I ended up back here. I raced to set up as I could just see a pink sliver of cloud forming and I knew from previous experience from my hotel balcony that this was a phenomenon that lasted at most a minute or two. I took a reading and set up the camera. I needed a four second exposure.
About twenty minutes after taking that shot I checked the lens shutter again. It was set to 1/60. So even though I had held down the cable release for four seconds I had gotten an exposure of 1/60. A shot that is eight steps under-exposed is never going to be beautiful even if the image is even visible. Well, trust me. It was beautiful.
As it turns out the light was pretty cloudy and crummy the whole morning. This was the best I got. A nice view. And the overcast light did at least pick out the lovely colours of the houses.
Gave my CANON A-1 another outing to see if the strange 'exposure fault' had been cured -- YES -- it seemed to be OK now! I loaded with the last cassette of 1993 bulk HP5+ and used my Home-Made FX-15 formula at 'stock strength' again and it gave wonderful negs with excellent 'Acutance' -- under a x6 Magnifier to old Canon FD 35mm f3.5 lens resolved very fine details. I rated the 1993 film at 125 ASA . I did PRINTS of these and scanned with HP Scanjet 4570 flatbed. Canon Breechlock 35mm f3.5 @ f4.5 and Yellow Filter OH DEAR !! I forgot to add some 'Unsharp Mask' to the scans !

I'm a Pisces fish and the river runs through my soul
And I'll be swimming until I can find those waters
That one unbounded ocean of bliss
That's flowing through your parents, sons and daughters
But still an easy thing for us to miss
Blades go skimming through the water
I hear the coxon shouting his instructions about
With this crew oh it could be a tall order
Have we time to sort all of these things out
Some times my life it seems like fiction
Some of the days it's really quite serene
I'm living proof of all life's contradictions
One half's going where the other half's just been
And I'm a Pisces fish and the river runs through my soul.

Agua Azul runs through a dense rain forest teeming with wildlife and cuts through limestone, which gives it a vivid blue color. A 100m zone on either side of the river is cooled by the flowing river, giving much-needed relief from the tepid tropical heat. Behind the water of the falls are small caves which can be accessed by diving and surfacing behind the cascading water--an incredible experience.

As I reached this location I saw the light playing across these buildings through a hole in the overcast cloud cover. By the time I got the tripod up it had disappeared. I waited at this location for nearly an hour waiting for the sun to creep through the clouds again. When it finally did it was too bright. I took this just as the light was fading behind clouds again to take the edge off the brightness. The weather changed completely a few minutes later with a completely different low bank of cloud rolling in with a wet cold wind. Shooting time was over.
