The Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood is one of St. Petersburg, Russia’s most iconic landmarks. Built on the site where Emperor Alexander II was assassinated in 1881, the church stands as a memorial to the fallen tsar. Completed in 1907, its striking design features vividly colored onion domes and intricate mosaics, showcasing traditional Russian Revival architecture. Inside, the walls are adorned with over 7,500 square meters of detailed mosaics, making it one of the largest mosaic collections in Europe. The church is both a historical monument and a masterpiece of Russian artistry.
Architecturally, the cathedral differs from Saint Petersburg's other structures. The city's architecture is predominantly Baroque and Neoclassical, but the Savior on Blood harks back to medieval Russian architecture in the spirit of romantic nationalism.
Our Savior held a grand opening at their West San Antonio Campus on September 11, 2022. They had over 100 people in worship and needed to set up more chairs than they had planned. Many first-time guests joined. They had coffee, cookies, and breakfast tacos during fellowship hour after the service. One visiting family said, “I will be back next week!”

Our scenic tour boat got stuck on the rocks after passing through some rapids in Cesky Krumlov. After 20-30 minutes, the local fire department arrived and they secured the boat. A ladder was lowered and we climbed to safety. It made for an exciting morning.
Students at the College des Saviors on the outskirts of Kinshasa received school resources from the Books for Africa donation. The school received 10 new calculators, English books, math cards, human anatomy flash cards, puzzles and other educational related games to incorporate into the classroom.
