Savior's Passage is so called after the khachkar that stands in it behind us.
The vaulted arcade leading to the book depository and Surp Nshan church on the right has a chapel-sepulcher and a number of beautiful khachkars (stone crosses), including the masterwork Amenaprkitch (All Savior) Khachkar.

The lamb refers to Jesus as “the Lamb of God” who was sacrificed for the forgiveness of our sins. The sun represents the Gospel (it warms us and has the power to heal; brings good news of salvation). It also represents the sun of Righteousness (Christ and his faithful followers in heavenly glory). The rainbow represents a promise (covenant with Noah that never again will all men die because of a flood). The stream (waters) represents truth (cleansing with the washing of water by the word. “Whosoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him well of water springing up into everlasting life.” John 4:14
