Yemeni man, allowed to live in Saudi Arabia, in love with his camel (Tihama).
Tihama is a narrow coastal region of Arabia on the Red Sea. It is currently divided between Saudi Arabia and Yemen. Unlike the inland region, it is made up of sand dunes and plains and is largely arid except a few oases.

This weekend the 6th season of the Formula E will start in Saudi Arabia with the Diriyah E-Prix. Saudia promotes the E-Prix with a special livery on one of their Boeing 777-300ERs. The special decal on the front is a combo of a falcon and Gen 2 Formula E race car. She is seen here departing runway 27L of London Heathrow Airport.

In 1981, Leyland Bus sent this longer-then-ever-wheelbase Olympian special to Riyadh in Saudi Arabia. It was over 12 metres long and the basically standard ECW body had flat windscreens, fully opening windows, the USA spec hinged escape windows and a roof mounted exhaust. Sadly, no orders followed. Does anyone know what happened to this bus?

Najran Fort.
Najran's most outstanding monument, Najran Fort, has all the signature characteristics of the Asir region: mud-brick fortications, fairy-tale turrets, crenellations with whitewash flourishes and small windows suggesting more than they reveal. Throughout the fort (which was also a palace), superbly carved doors and window shutters open onto whitewashed rooms with ceilings supported by palm-trunk beams.
Construction began in 1942 and the fort's 60 rooms were designed to form a self-sustaining complex - perhaps a reflection of the fact that Najran's new Saudi rulers had less than complete faith in the Imam of Yemen's renunciation of the claim to Najran. The fort fell out of everyday use in 1967, when Saudi-Yemeni relations stablised.

The empty quarter is a desert like no other, and includes the largest continuous body of sand on the planet. It remains one of the last great empty spaces on the world map and, in its heart, there are still places where few human beings have ever passed.

This tower is the symbol of the university. I tried to take the shot from an angle that I think was "interesting"...I hope you find it so!
