I took this photo earlier this spring. This red flower stood out among the typical yellow-green flowers of this species.
We were pretty confused about the holes in these pitcher plants until we realized they had recently been tested by other unknown researchers. Angelina National Forest, May 2015.

I was so stoked to see this old pitcher plant painting in the Stark Art Museum in Orange, Texas that I didn't even think to check if photography was allowed. It wasn't... but the guard didn't seem to care. The backdrop for this painting is so unlike most extant Sarracenia habitat-- I'm really curious where exactly this was painted.
