Santa Clarita in spring can be beautiful. For a brief month or two after the seasonal rains the dry landscape is transformed. I've never seen it like this before. The spring wildflowers were prolific that year in Santa Clarita. I was trying to capture this amazing scene; sometimes you come across a scene the captures your attention and sometimes your mood. I ran up the top of this little hill hopefully to capture the last rays of the sun. But circumstances wouldn't allow it and the sunset never came. But I didn't need one tonight. I love Santa Clarita in the spring.

Another eastbound intermodal hustles over the girder bridge as the afternoon sun starts to fade. Note that several Santa Fe logos were on this bridge at different times over the years.

We decided this year not to put up a real tree as we usually do. We won't have visitors but we wanted to keep some sort of spirit going so I hung my wall quilt I made and I added a candle and a tiny real poinsettia. I'm not happy at all that we didn't get to go back to Ontario and visit with family/friends and especially our two grandkids. Despite all this...we are both fine and hope you are as well. Be safe friends.
No idea how old this is, but he's very heavy.. maybe made of that chalky stuff that Kewpie dolls are made of?
Santa Monica for sunset. That was the plan. All the afternoon I kept looking outside at the clouds. It had potential for a burner so I took my chances, grabbed my gear and headed down to Santa Monica. I got to the Santa Monica Pier just in time to watch the colors explode. The sunset lasted for a good half an hour. I love sunsets like these!
