So much sand, such a small shovel!

I have a sandbox in my garden for visiting children.

the lovely miniature landscapes of patriciaanne daviau were on display along with a lot of other cool builds on the sad closing day of an amazing sandbox

Used to be a sandbox. Now it's a flower box. I suppose that's prettier, but less fun.

Molly wanted to play in the sandbox, but she didn't want to get sand in her shoes. So, she stood on the side and built some sort of house.

Jessie is the ruler of her sandbox. She hoards all the sandbox toys and decides which she will let Sydney use. If Sydney is holding something Jessie wants, she will just yank it out of her hands.

While they were playing in the sandbox(on the day this picture was taken), Jessie got mad at something Sydney did and she said to me, "Daddy, Sydney's making a mess! I don't like her." Haha. "Uhhhh....Jessie, it's a sandbox. You're allowed to make a mess."

Elevn's sandcastle and sandship.

This is the 2.0 version of a sandbox at my grandparents'!

I too had a sandbox when I was little, it was made with wood and filled with the sort of sand they use at construction sites. I loved making sand "cakes" and weird castles! And I had the whole backyard for myself for almost 10 years!

Some places were scary but they felt enchanted and others keep beeing just as relaxing and pleasant as ever :)

Justine is being supported by the stand my granfather made <3 I have to show it to you as soon as I can!

Seattle Design Nerds take another run at an AR Sandbox

A $200,000 plot of land in Cupertino (sand not included).

for some reason, i've been looking more and more at other properties, considering selling my home and moving elsewhere in the pitt. optimally, i'd love an architect-designed mid-century home, and was actually fairly close to buying one on the edge of churchill and wilkinsburg, but just couldn't quite take the risk, for it needed a good amount of work. besides that, everything else i want seems to be way out of my price range, unless it's very removed from the city.

so... i look around in lawrenceville a bit too, thinking i can possibly score something fairly cheap, and redo it in a more 'modern way.' i've always loved the idea of loft living, and while these newly in-the-construction-phase lofts near 52nd and butler are pretty nice, they and the area werent feeling like 'home' to me. oh well, it will all work out in the end... i do have a very nice house now, i shouldn't complain.

Drake took these lovely pictures at the IBM Sandbox today.
