A wave closes out around our guy in one of the bigger sets of the day.
A big problem this day was the two directions of the waves arriving. Both were approximately equal height causing waves to fall apart quickly. Look at the other wave coming from his left.

I've never fooled anyone. I've let people fool themselves. They didn't bother to find out who and what I was. Instead they would invent a character for me. I wouldn't argue with them. They were obviously loving somebody I wasn't.

A word is not the same with one writer as with another. One tears it from his guts. The other pulls it out of his overcoat pocket.

After attending the Fandango Fronterizo on the San Diego/Tijuana border, my son spotted a bedraggled bird that had washed up in the surf. Turns out it was an Osprey clutching a large, very pregnant fish it had snared with its powerful claw. It was too heavy a load for the osprey until its feathers dried out. Meanwhile, it took turns alternately glaring at me for getting too close and then at a pesky batch of seagulls that were hoping for a free lunch - which I'm happy to report, they didn't get.
