The scene at the totality of the solar eclipse today in Georgetown, SC, from the River Walk in front of the Kaminski House Museum. If FB compression hasn't killed the detail, you can just see the moon in front of the sun through the high clouds towards the top of the image.
I wasn't set up to go for close up shots, so for the most part I didn't shoot pictures of the sun, except for this tiny bit.

Lake Mattamuskeet Lodge in the Lake Mattamuskeet National Wildlife Refuge in North Carolina. The lodge, closed and in need of repair and renovation, was formerly the pump station responsible for draining the lake so it could be farmed. That venture proved unprofitable, and the lake was restored after the federal government bought the land and opened the refuge in the mid 1930s.
Even so, the lake is still only half its original size, thanks to other drainage canals.
