Bodie Island Light (Outer Banks, NC) at night.

As I saw the Milky Way and the city of Bali together, it dawned on me that all the major religions and the great sages say the same thing: When you truly know yourself, you know everything and that is the heaven you are seeking.

This area was decimated in the 2009 bushfires and it is still recovering. There are still skeletons of gum trees dotted throughout the landscape but it is a beautiful location and nights like these you wouldn't even know!! Bonus, its less than 2 hours from Melbourne and light pollution free.

A trip to Stonehenge a few days before the summer solstice. I had hoped to catch the Milky Way but a combination of light pollution and a very low to the horizon mist plus the moon rising through the area where the core would be just destroyed any chance of that.

My Samyang 35mm is my go-to lens. I use it in all situations. I highly recommend it. The only thing is youll have to get used to manual aperture as this is a fully manual lens.

There's nothing quite like sitting around a campfire under a starry night after a long day.

The world is round and the sky is blue.

I spent last night out under clear skies for several hours photographing the stars and listening to the neighborhood wake up after Nyepi (silence day), fishing boats, roosters crowing, Hindus chanting.

(Canon 5D MkIII, Samyang 14mm f2.4, PlanIt! Pro App helped me know what time and where the Milky Way would rise👍👍)
