Bonnet stitch sampler.
A quick one this week as I'm off on holiday for 3 weeks! Hope you all have a Happy Easter!
Designed by Lesa Steele. Best downloaded and viewed in Full Size (which is kind of big - sorry). I'm almost finished -there are only a few more bands to go. I decided to take a break (read chickened out) when I got to the hem stitching band, as I've never done those before! The beading is also being done at the end. I subbed the Kreinik with Rainbow Gallery PTB (Gold). Other fibers used: Silk N Colors Halloween Confetti; DMC Perle Ecru #8 + #12. Fabric is Cream Belfast Linen.

Block 4. My center pinwheel point on the blue block didn't match up very well. I can live with it. :)

My two favorite things that other people have made for me. The shawl my mom made, the sampler my grandma made
We had dinner at the Padre Brewing Company and tried a sample tray of their five different beers. The stout was a little disappointing, but the wheat ale was divine.

Birth sampler for my amazing nephew who joined us this past year. The pattern is "Watch Over Me" by Karen Kluba -- www.rosewoodxstitch.com/catalog.php?item=149&catid=26... -- with a few modifications (added another border for the great-great-grandparents, used first names instead of initials, made the baby bird purple instead of red or blue, etc.) I picked this pattern because a lot of birth sampler patterns are a little bit too "babyish," and I wanted something that would be appropriate at any age -- and also because I adored the "family tree" idea that would make this not only a commemoration of his birth but a record of his ancestors.
trying out different stitch techniqes AND making something useful- 100% cotton, eco- friendly wash cloths.

Loved the textures produced by the stitching.
I do apologise to the creators- I didn't buy a catalog and so don't know who to credit. Please add a comment if you know who made this.
