A sampler for Intermediate Crewel. Original design in that I was given the shapes and had to put them together. Appleton crewel wool, mainly double. Some stitches were surprisingly easy, other were hard to do well and very tedious to complete (stitch, unpick, stitch, unpick ...).
The computer design for the sampler. I haven't put the flying geese border on the real quilt, and I'm not sure if I will.
Wool knitted afghan comprised of 12 sampler squares. A Nikki Epstein design, but modified somewhat by me. I completely changed two of her squares. Barbara Walker's Spider (in notes, above, is one). These are, as seen in the photo above, yet to be blocked, embellished and assembled. I am hoping to be finished with all but the border by this time next week,
My new machine works miracles. I love the monograms, cross stitch patterns, fonts etc. it's amazing!
hasn't been washed yet...my new washer is a bit small so i may have to hold off. i love it.
also, you can see the binding and the quilting rather well in this picture.

I gave a bit of my own twist on the block, but made sure to keep the curves really gentle, like Alyssa suggested. I think it would have been easier with a smaller rotary cutter. Otherwise, it went surprisingly well! There is a little bit of breath holding while you sew and before you open the seam, wondering if everything matched up ok!
block one of a sampler quilt. I'm making it up as I go along. this block came from a quilting book and was originally 20 inches square, so I drafted it down to 7.5. I'll add a border (maybe the blue) around the edges once I decide if the finished blocks are going to be 8 or 9 inches square.
The summer sampler series from 2011 completed 11 of the blocks plus one extra star of Virginia.
I plan on using these blocks within a larger quilt, but looking at them in a mosaic sure is nice.

The instagram shot that made Jaffa Quilts gasp out loud. Don't worry only a few points were harmed in the re- making of the Moda Modern Building blocks sampler
One of my collection of samplers.
This one is modern but based on traditional designs. It is dated 2000. I found it on Kettering market in 2009.
I'm putting together a sampler made out of 10 house designs, many trees, and other garden motifs. This is my very small start on this huge project!
I made this ribbon embroidery wedding sampler for my son and daughter-in-law. It was the first time I'd ever done ribbon embroidery. From the date on it, you can see that it is 10 years old.
This quilt was started in a 10 month class with Chris Kenna at Nancy's Embroidery in Wellington in 2009. i finally finished it this year and won an Excellence in Use of Colour at the Wellington Quilter's Guild Exhibition in October 2012
Checking out the current mix of colors and patterns. Still quite a few squares to make, if it's going to be a comfortable king size.
sampler/scrap quilt using kaffe fassett fabrics. this is just winged without any sort of pattern. I did use some block patterns from memory, but that's about it.
So far, so good, I think, partner. This is a little mock-up of the blocks so far. They'll have narrow sashing in the blue.
A little bit of a lot of good things. Enrobed brownies, dark tcho chocolate truffle, white chocolate, milk chocolate, and dark chocolate truffles.. Oh My.. This is quite the Lovers Sampler Box.
