These old core samples were still in their boxes. Everything here was covered in a fine, brown dust.

The first 8 are from the Goulet Pens, 'Top Seller Blues' ink sampler; followed by a separate sample (China Blue) I purchased and then the blues I already own.
The paper is from a Rhodia dot pad and I used a dip pen with a W. Mitchell Round Hand #4 nib. The image was scanned.
Definitely love the China Blue & Noodler's (that shade is exclusive to Goulet) ...the problem is that the latter really doesn't like dip nib pens.

Knitting sample of "fashion" decreases together with seam-as-you-go on machine knitting.
(All hand manipulation because my machine is VERY low tech)
The "fashion" decrease is made with 3 prong tool. The decrease on the 3th stitch into the fabric. I am not entirely sure. maybe I should use the 2 prong tool instead and make the decrease 2 stitches into the fabric? I think the strip looks too fat.
Yarn: Drops Karisma, DK weight wool yarn.
Practice to make raglan sweater. The color will be brown for the background and floral border (fair isle or intarsia method). The 2 color here is for contrast.
By the way, it is not really feasible to do top-to-down method on machine because it is very awkward to do decreases in the mid of fabric because you have to rehang all the stitches on the sides. I have made 3 prong tool to make the decrease 3 sts into the fabric and I also have 2 prong tools.
(you can see my homemade tools here: www.flickr.com/photos/funnybunny/5129361230/in/photostream/ )
All for human clothes. the scale is too big for making good doll clothes because DK weight is the thinnest to get solid fabric. thinner = hollow. But it could be good to make hats/helmets for Blythe because of her big head. ;) Of course I could make doll sweater too but it would be bulky in doll size and not really practical too, in that size you could as well knit for hand and also be more free in styling....
