This is a curve-billed thrasher sampling the flower of a saguaro cactus. I found the fuzzy texture of the buds kind of interesting.

Both taken with the same phone, the purple is awfully lighter, and the Nike symbols are slightly different shades of red. Opinions are welcome and I appreciate them. Thanks!

Jean and I went to the Phoenix Desert Botanical Garden on Monday morning. A great chance to see some cactus blooms, birds and of course this little guy, which is a round-tailed squirrel. I thought he looked so cute sampling the produce along the trail.

This meadow is in a remote location near Kaiser Pass in the high Sierras. After you go over the crest of Kaiser Pass, you will come to a side road going North to Sample Meadow and a campground. I've never camped here, and I've only seen a couple people doing it over the years. There isn't a potable water source and you would have to bring in your own water. But you would get to wake up to an amazing view like this everyday.
