A very common view of Sam, our golden retriever. I can't seem to stop taking pictures of him; loved the way the light was shining on his face in this one.
Sam! One of my amazing friends who's going to college soon! I've had some idea floating around in my head for quite a while now; thank you so much for volunteering to participate in this amazingly fun photoshoot!
About the set up:
This was all set up in my garage. I had three 8'x4' sheets of plywood; two of which were placed horizontally on the sides of the vertical sheet of plywood. I then had strings hanging from the ceiling where I attached the news papers. And obviously I taped the news papers to the plywood.
As for the lighting; I made sure to position the plywood so it's enclosing one of our garage lights. I also used a light I purchased at a hardware store for about $8 that's actually meant for a lamp; it's not technically a "ring-light".

The Sam Laud was loading stone at Port Inland. Photographed from near the Seul Choix lighthouse. This port was originally built by Inland Steel as a source of limestone for steel making.
Photographed using a Sony NEX 5N using the Nikkor 200-600mm f/9.5 lens.
Last year Vera attended our high-school as a foreign exchange student. She became sisters basically with Sam (right) who moved here from the Phillipines about seven years ago. Vera came back this summer to visit so I had to get some shots. We had fun tossing apples up in the air... but apparently she forgot how to count in English lol
