Uncle Sam is a symbol of the empire in which I live. Though my mind wants to find symbolism in the ways the government can "dance," this man on stilts was really at the zoo just for fun on Independence Day. I can't imagine what it would be like to do what he did!
It has been a year since we lost Sam. I have never known a soul that fills up a space as completely as Sam did, still does, in fact.
Sam Shoegum wasted no time in examining what he could of the thief's abandoned wardrobe. "She obviously left these as they were not only heavy, but also would mark her identity. But..."
"You mean we can find out who she is by examining these clothes?" Konoto interjected.
"But we can find out the manufacturer of these garments and who in particular embroidered this emblem on the front. And I know just the person to ask about this. Come on!"

6:30 pm. The show must go on! And what a great introduction our host, Farmer Timothy Hay, has done! He even sang a great song, "Lucille". He had everyone singing the refrain, "You picked a good time to leave me Lucille..."[www.bing.com/videos/search?q=kenny+rogers+lucille&doc...]
After he completed his song, he took a gracious bow, and thanked the musicians.
"Wow! That was a neat performance," Lamando exclaimed to Sam in the deafening applause. Lamando had come at Sam's invitation, including his laptop with all the data from the crime investigation.
"It's good to see Nosmo at the keyboards, too," Sam added. He knew that he was very good with his hands, not only in stitching and sewing, but also performing the keyboard. "I heard he learned sewing from his grandmother at the same time as learning to play piano from his mother. Both talents have served him well."
"I would say so," Lamando agreed. "Say, where's Konoto? Wasn't she going to join us?"
"I have her on a special assignment tonight," Sam winked at Lamando. "You won't see her on stage, but what she will have done by the time one certain performer comes you'll see what I've been planning."
The applause slowly diminished, and Timothy Hay then introduced the next performers.
"Please welcome the singing sisters, Amanda Lynn and Claire Annette!"
