Baby Manny boating (in a fashionable life jacket) at the public docks in Newburyport, MA. Needless to say, he was not thrilled with the life jacket.

This dismantled one's in the living room.

The Postcard

A postcard published by the Alpha Publishing Co. Ltd. - 'The Smile Messengers'.

The card was posted in Torquay on Friday the 30th. June 1939, 66 days before Great Britain declared War on Germany.

The card was sent to:

Master Keith Hart,

Southleigh,

Western Road,

Mickleover,

Derby.

The message on the back of the card was as follows:

"Dear Little Keith,

Just tell your Daddy I hope

he won't arrange to meet you

in the woodshed.

It's much nicer on the Sands,

we are enjoying watching the

people sunbathing today at

Oddicombe.

It's a lovely little spot.

I wish you were all here.

Best love to all,

Auntie Min".

Philip Morris Playhouse

So what else happened on the day that the card was posted?

Well, on the 30th. June 1939, the radio anthology series Philip Morris Playhouse was premiered by CBS.

My shinto road safety amulet.

Used a Canon t70 with 50mm f1.8 lens. Kodax tx400 developed and scanned by me.

No mining today, walking on the hill (le Mormont) is allowed.

See what I mean about watching over him...he stayed there until gavin got over the step up right there, then he took off. pretty cool.

Nooo, not unsafe at all! I am wearing my safety jeans and beside that, I have a very hard head!

Ft. Buchanan, PR- In an effort for preventing heat injuries during the hot

summer days, the 1st Mission Support Command (1stMSC) produced a short

safety message where the 1st MSC Command Sergeant Major, Rene Rivera, alerts

the troops of the importance of maintaining readiness without compromising

safety.

My old rope was about five years old, and despite being in relatively good shape, it was time for a new cord. I cut six feet off the old one and will use it for top roping.

I picked up the new Maxim Glider in a 70 meter. At 9.9 mm it's fatter than my old trusty Beal Booster 9.6 mm, but the sheath seems super slick and supple. Can't wait to try it out. I also bought a 70 meter for the first time after my 60 meter didn't make it to a rappel anchor in red rocks.

Who wants to go jump off a cliff to see if it works?

For those of you with children, these balcony door locks (two of them) always come in handy.
