“Safety First” cigarette card album:
This cigarette card album was issued in 1934 by W.D & H.O. Wills. It was one of many public and private initiatives in the attempt to reduce the number of people killed on the roads in the 1930s.
The guidance covers road junctions, overtaking, hand signals, police traffic signals, driving at night, parking, correcting a skid, driving on roads used by trams and driving in the countryside. There is also advice for motorcyclists, cyclists and pedestrians, especially children. |
