From the Port of Tacoma, WA, we have the Vigilant as she tends to the Hyundai Mercury. I can only imagine the power and torque that these mighty tug boats must have. The challenge here was simply to override the camera's light meter and increase the exposure as needed. Thank you for your warm and kind visits my friends; they are much appreciated!

The Chicago and Northwestern shops and turntable at Chadron, NE are still standing, a once large steam operation on the old Cowboy Line. Now just a shadow of itself, what is left serves on for the Nebraska Northwestern Railroad.

This candle is made of wax, but the light and flickering flame are battery operated! You can even turn it off and on with a remote control.

I was intending to do this for the Macro Mondays Group theme 'Flame', but just didn't have time to do it earlier in the week.

Providence and Worcester B40-8W #4006 sits in front of the Worcester dispatch center on a calm fall night. Before the G&W takeover, safety signage on the P&W was modest and tasteful and got the point across. Although the G&W signage does the job, it's neither modest, nor tasteful.

Candid street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. Quite a smoke screen he is creating between his vape and the mobile phone - it definitely caught my eye. On a side note I have started vaping too, reducing my cigarette smoking and aiming to switch over entirely soon and then wean myself off of nicotine. Have tried many other ways to quit without success so far but this feels promising - fingers crossed!

Industrial electric light. It is supposed to be water proof. In fact, it's half-full with rainwater. An electric bulb is half-submerged, and works, and shines under water. Crazy surreal real life. Street photo.
