The pedestrian walkway under the Hagley Road, Birmingham. Taken while waiting for people to pass the other way as the tunnel is a bit tight for social distancing restrictions.

The tunnel marks the point where the former Harborne branch line passed under the road. It closed as part of the Beeching cuts and was converted into a path in the 1970s.

This is the Piazza Monti di Gibellina, one of the set-piece civic spaces created as part of the construction of the new town of Nuova Gibellina, Sicily. The town was built from scratch, from the 1970s onwards, to replace the original town (10km away) which was destroyed by an earthquake in 1968.

This square is one of a series of similar spaces called 'Sistema Delle Piazze' which were designed by Franco Purini and Laura Thermes.

Just another variation for the lake series, this time b/w. I got me a system of ND and GND filters ans start to try them out. So this are just some beginner's pics...

It was an eventful day. My primary computer crashed and I had to reinstall the operating system. Luckily I foresaw the event and I transferred most of my data to a portable hard drive yesterday. This morning came the blue screen of death. I spent the better part of the day cobbling things back together, and am tentatively testing the waters.

I run an older OS, and as a result, Internet Exploder would now have to be updated to view flickr. I decided no. I chose to go with Opera instead. I lost my old version of GIMP, of course, and I had to download the newer version. So today's shot is really just an image to test the post processing waters. I still must calibrate my monitor and tweak a few other things.

Change is never fun, and is rarely easy, but I'm running much faster now and I will adjust.

Dark-ages-era spacey stuff recovered from my old computer. (Again, please excuse my poor 2014-era photography skills... or lack thereof)

The United Systems Military Fleet (USMF) was a faction I created out my love of combing things old and new. The old being classic Lego space set parts from the likes of Futuron, M-Tron, Ice Planet, and Blacktron and then combining those classic elements with the new parts Lego had designed since then.

The colors being the simple red and white were born out of a desire to use the most classic parts in those colors and introducing the newer dark bley to add a touch of modernity.

The USMF was faction I have an affection for as it has direct ties to classic space sets of yesteryear with some of the pizzaz of new parts and new building techniques. This is somewhat unlike the other factions I have made (the CLC and CDN) as they are more modern military-focused, with basically none of the old space elements many of us grew up loving.

As I get increasingly nostalgic as the years march on, I intend to revisit this theme and these fleets of ships. They may be reduced to their elements at this point, but I feel a revival coming...

I posted this image before, but was inspired to redo it when I came up with the clever title. :)

Once again, I used the new Nik software (as well as CS6), and am really quite pleased with the results.

Here's my entry to the TTV Brickonicle Contest. I wanted to incorporate the original canister types in a way that made sense for a modern lego set. Here it is used as the main storage section on a transport vehicle.

The label would be on the inside of the canister instead of the outside, and it would also be reversible to show a more fitting print to go with the scene. In this case, it is a riveted paneling texture.
