This group of women would meet about 7 am every few days in February, and March to run down and jump in the ocean. It was cold outside, in the dead of winter, teeth chattering cold, and some people say it is good for you. It is only life if you live it.
We went for a walk along the beach the day we got there, and this cute 'little' baby elephant was having an afternoon swim after his game of soccer ...
This is the first set of the Canada Goose Goslings that I photographed, they are almost fully mature now as they head off for a daily swim. These goslings still hang around the parents but are totally capable of flight.
'That brief moment that you are enjoying a midnight skinny dip and then you suddenly think of the Jaws film'!

A Lemon Shark (Negaprion brevirostris) moves in effortless grace. Swimming with sharks is something incredibly surreal and so amazingly enlightening...everyone should do it at least once in their lifetime.

A bear cub swims through the water to join its mother who is fishing for salmon! This photo was taken in Alaska!

We are looking forward to some nice (indian) summer days in the coming week in Holland. Maybe the last before it is really getting colder. To get into the mood, here a LE made with the assistance of karindebruin. Have a great weekend!
Located on the edge of a quiet town, we find this beautiful abandoned thermal spa in France.
There has probably been a spa on this site that dates back to Roman times and was revived during the 1600s because of a novel referring to the quality of the water in the area.
The water here comes from six sources, is trapped under tectonic plates and contains a lot of sulfur and fluoride.
This spa was built during the mid-19th century and was a popular tourist destination.
In the 1980s, the spa went down and finally closed. It has since been abandoned.
