Product Description: Made from recycled coffee bean sacks, Swag is an eco-friendly backpack used for gathering and transporting groceries. Great for avid bicyclists, walkers and outdoor enthusiasts.
Today we have one of my older swag items, a plush armadillo wearing a cowboy hat with a hat band that says "Dallas" on it. Since there's a lot of activity going on in Houston as the planning proceeds for one of Microsoft's biggest events, WPC, I thought swag with a Texas connection was appropriate...My first TechEd was in 2003 in Dallas. On Wednesday night, there were two evening events, one for IT Pros and one for developers. The IT Pro party was at the Circle R Ranch, and I think we definitely had the better event of the two. We had armadillo races, for example, and I think we can all agree that's a winner in anyone's book...I'm pretty sure this armadillo came from the Circle R Ranch event, but he definitely didn't run in any races.
Lost Highway records wanted to use one of Thom's images from a Hayes Carll poster for future events. Thom said sure, for $100 and some swag from your label. He was expecting a t-shirt and a sticker. What he got instead was a 15 lb box full of cd's and vinyl from all the artists on their label. Score!
We now seem to own everything by Ryan Adams, whom I've heard of but had never listened to. Oh and we got the new Morrissey. Dude's still writing slit your wrist lyrics to happy happy joy joy music.
There's a bunch of other stuff in there as well. Dude hooked us up.

Aren't these the cutest things? Lumps of coal soap. Each comes in it's own little coal sack with a hang tag. Perfect little stocking stuffer!
Love this hat! Totally saved me while at Warped Tour this summer. No one likes a sun burned scalp. =] Thanks Lynz!

You couldn't order up a more perfect morning for walking to work -- the sun was just coming up as I left the house, so it was never beating directly into my eyes, and it was cool and crisp and not at all humid, and the whole world seemed to be happily creeping toward the cusp of autumn. Just delightful. And then it was ten bazillion degrees when I left work at 11:30 to go labor in the farm fields. Naturally. Why would it want to be pleasant when we're getting our pick-your-own stuff?
