The evening of the marathon - after a nice shower and nap, of course. Couldn't pass up a picture with Mickey and my just-earned Mickey Marathon medal.
I think I still look reasonably alive. And there weren't many marathoners out in the parks the same day, so that made me feel pretty good, too.

Free Swag Sarah & the Zed Team gave away at Z99 summer on Scarth street promotion - make sure you look for us on July 15th! It will be BIGGER & BETTER!
Bodrum Castle is now an archaeological museum specialising in artefacts recovered from ancient shipwrecks. However the castle grounds are dotted with architectural fragments, stone altars and other pieces of decorative carved marble.
Today is Monday, so back to swag! Here are four Rubik's Cubes I've received over the years. And these are all official Rubik's Cubes. I suspect the folks who own the rights are pretty protective of them and have clamped down on knock-offs. The cube on the left is from CDW and I suspect I received that from a rep or something. I don't believe that came from any show that I can recall...The small keychain from Avocent is from TechEd 2008 in Orlando. The Microsoft cube has product logs on all sides. You can see the Windows side, but there is one for Xbox, MSN, etc, I can't find any history about this one, so I'm not sure where I found it. It does have an old Xbox logo so it is pre-360...Lastly, the Xiotech (now X-IO) cube was from one of the user group meetings they used to have. Again, I'm not sure when I received it, but it dates back to the days of the Magnitude 3D platform (from the image on the cube face) so probably 2006 or something like that.
Scout's Swag Sock Yarn in Socktoberfest
50% Superwash Merino - 50% Tencel
Fingering/Light Sport - 375 yds
I swapped this skein with a terrific woman on Ravelry. I sent her books, she sent me yarn. A great deal!
I like the colors. It is definitely more grey than the black in the photos on Scout's site. My guess is that because it is 50% tencel, it means the color didn't take as much in those areas. I found that with my Dexter yarn in the bamboo blend, it was lighter than the other 100% wool ones. So I think that is a property of the non-wool fibers in it.
The purple is yummy too. I definitely think I need to order some more Scout yarn. I love a bunch of her colorways.
I just need to figure out what to knit with it!
