Railway photography locations don’t come much more delectable than this! Viewed from the banks of the swiftly-flowing River Severn, 25262 edges across Victoria Bridge with the 12:33 Kidderminster-Highley 'local' service on 5 October, 2024. The immaculately-presented Class 25 was visiting from the South Devon Railway for the SVR’s ‘Autumn Diesel Bash’.

GWR Pannier Tank 0-6-0 7714 at Kidderminster Severn Valley Railway, a grand total of 860 of this class were built between 1929-1950, 7714 in service from 1930 withdrawn from BR service in 1959. To the SVR in 1973 after some years at the NCB Rhymney South Wales.

Severn Valley Railway - Autumn Steam Gala - Day 3 (DSC 3803)

A combination of low morning sun and a bank of threatening rain cloud makes for dramatic lighting as D1524 and D821 (the latter presented as D845 'Sprightly') await departure from Kidderminster with the 10:30 to Bridgnorth on 29 September, 2000. I assume that the ‘47 was detached at Bewdley due to the weight limit on Victoria Bridge.

24.3.2012.

In super lighting, Ex LNER 'A4' Pacific 4-6-2 No 4464 'Bittern' approaches Highley station. This scene could be 1930's as the loco is hauling a fine set of Gresley teak coaches. Just needs the double track.

The Mid Hants ' Mickey Mouse' tank 41312 is visiting the SVR for the Spring gala and prior to that is working services between Bridgnorth and Kidderminster as seen here at Highley.
