The little putto is 99p and the lily grows abundantly in our garden. And yet the image moves me. In what name do I put up resistance against my own rational verdict? What and who is calling?

Decided to experiment on something "totally different". The day I started working on this was such a strange day, it really fit the mood of the day!

Not much commentary needed here. One of the over 7 out of 10 Americans who say they disapprove of the Donald.
A picture in which one would like to withdraw. In reality, it is not as strange and cold as it first appeared to me. It was on a freezing cold October day when I saw this scene. I wandered around in the Swiss mountains all day, even though the weather was anything but friendly. Well, a photographer loves this kind of weather too because it creates unique moods. I discovered exactly such a special atmosphere while hiking back to my starting point. But only when I looked back did I see this lonely house by the rocks. I immediately asked myself how it is possible to get there and... to live on this place? I saw no way that would lead up there and just couldn't imagine how to get to this house. The path stayed hidden from me that day and that's a good thing, because I don't have to know everything, I just could marvel at this strange winter landscape in the Alps on a somewhat unusual October day. It was the first and very early snow in the mountains that came in this time of year. It was still autumn and nobody was in the mountains that day but me....
How very different and inviting the same place looks in summer I don't need to describe here. Just imagine it. But even in summer I really don't know how to get up there to the house by the rocks.
In addition: I am actually in love with colors in photography. This picture is different. Maybe you will turn a blind eye for this, if there is only little color in my latest picture. Hope you can at least enjoy a bit with me my newest photography. Don't have a look to long on it, other wise do you start to freeze.... haha....
Wishing all my wonderful friends a very special and peaceful winter time, lots of happiness and joyful moments with all your loved ones. I personally do not celebrate christmas but try to enjoy the more quite times of the year to go inside myself and listen to my heart. Thanks everyone for all your prescious time you gave me and my little work of love. Every word you have written on my fotostream means so much to me. Please take care of you my friends and we all looking foreward for better times to come.
Your friend in Switzerland

The strength for the new lies in the silence and patience of winter.
Those who are under the spell of the mountains consider them to be a miracle beyond compare.
I really love this song from Leonard Cohen. He brings me so many deep feelings and love through his words. Wishing all of you much LOVE in the coming year. We all need it.

These Bluebirds brought home an amazing variety of prey. I'm sure Junior will enjoy this one. Thanks so much for stopping by.
One of the strangest churches in the world.
The church of Agia Fotini in Mantinia (Greece) is a temple built with a unique architectural style combining Christianity and ancient Greece.
Is a quirky work of art.
I was down by the campus today, and I actually remembered to bring the camera :)
I have an old and more natural shot of this Frank Gehry structure back in my stream, but I've always wanted to play with this shot. It only took me 5 years to get back here :)
And as I've said before....I'm like a Fish....I'm attracted to shiny things :)
And you might want to press L....I do like the way it looks on black....

I tried to emphasize the strange appearance of Mr. Fern in monochrome.
A strange, but somehow fascinating, sculpture, near the Invercauld Arms Hotel in Braemar in the Scottish Highlands. This Cocktail Shaker Ice Cream thing is over 10 feet high and shines in the winter sun on what is actually a cold day.
The awful weather we have had recently reminded me of this shot which I took earlier this year. The sky and the light was really strange causing this brickwork to turn this wonderful glowing red colour... I didn't process this other than an unsharp mask, it really was just like this! There was some serious rain not long after I took this photo!

As strange as an egg-laying rabbit we have a green koala, pink panther and blue elephant :)

We came across this strange creature on our long walk today.
There is a sign inviting you to add to his length and people have put more stones behind him but they have not been painted.

Photo taken today of a Red Grouse posing on this stone built wall in the Peak District/UK, hope you like him.
Shot a couple of nights ago with Neil here posing in the dark, we found this tree with dozens of plastic bottles hanging from the branches. I can't even begin to guess why the bottles are hanging off a tree in the middle of nowhere in Sherwood Forest unless it's some creepy cult thing. Or maybe something perfectly innocent, either way, answers on a postcard please!!
At the risk of sounding crazy, this is where I saw some oddly moving lights in the sky around midnight one night. They were far away and seemed to be searching the landscape for something. The light beams were tilting up and down, also. They moved vast distances in seconds. Everything was still and very quiet. After watching them out of the tent window for nearly ten minutes, I grew tired again and went back to sleep... hoping that they wouldn't head my way (which they didn't).
In the arid land of southwestern Wyoming, you can see over vast distances. It is a hot, dry, and harsh environment... and inhospitable for those who are unprepared. The landscape consists of dirt and rock... and although there is some evidences of life (sagebrush, antelope, deer, gophers, and birds), bushes and trees are scarcely seen. The clouds and hills cast sculptured shadows across the landscape. Buttes jut out of the hillsides like cathedrals. It is quiet and still... no one is within miles and miles. This arid desert land has a beauty all of its own.

What a strange and beautiful thing I thought. We had just experienced snow in the mountains as we drove and then just as suddenly as it came on the sun came out. The heat of the pavement made an incredible steamy mist rise up. I had to jump down and get as close as possible! š this was a completely empty stretch of road as well so I was able to do this safely. Itās taken me awhile to post it - Iām not sure why... I get into a frame of mind where I am reluctant to share my work. I think I am an overwhelmed perfectionist. If I canāt get it to look a certain way I give up on posting. Trying to do better this year and just post what I love and leave it at that. Every time I get on Flickr I am blown away by my dear friends here who post such high quality work. You all inspire me often without even knowing it.
Much love to you all!š
